Advertisement Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Hi esy0345, Take a look here Please listen Leica - make an X with a 50 f2 lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
vsel Posted October 3, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted October 3, 2013 I totally agree, and if the MF/AF solution of the X-Vario could be implemented it would be an instant classic.
dkCambridgeshire Posted October 3, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted October 3, 2013 A 50/2 lens on an X format camera would be equivalent to 75mm FF ... a very front heavy unergonomic contraption for which there would be no demand. Â There is no need for fast lenses on X series cameras. Their high ISO performance is exemplary. A faster lens would make the price prohibitively expensive. Steve Lane Posted October 3, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted October 3, 2013 An X camera with a 50mm lens would really interest me. I love my X1 but an X3 with 50mm (eqiv.) would make an ideal partner
esy0345 Posted October 4, 2013 Author Share #5 Â Posted October 4, 2013 50mm equivalent and just as the X1 X2 the lens would retract.Even better would be a 35-50mm combo. Respectfully disagree with f2 not being necessary as high ISO is not the best solution to indoor/dark photo situations. Price would not bother many as long as the quality was there. FrozenInTime Posted October 4, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted October 4, 2013 I've been after such a camera for ages. Â The Ricoh GR is great at 28mm. It's ideal compliment would be a retro looking X3 that was as close as possible in size to a Leica I. The X1/2 body already looks deliberately styled to be close - just add a 50mm equiv. lens that has a twist out mechanism similar to the Fuji X10/20 ( i.e. I would prefer non motorized lens extension but still AF ). Â In my mind such a retro camera would be an ideal 100 year anniversary camera.
Guest Posted October 4, 2013 Share #7  Posted October 4, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) hello,  my assessment of leica X3 and other leica's. X3: the AUDI-design-team will already have a jubilee in body work. others: the D-Lux 6 below body will also come from the home "AUDI". both to the latest photokina 2014.  best regards  kmhb
NZDavid Posted October 11, 2013 Share #8 Â Posted October 11, 2013 I am convinced all the Leica X series have great lenses, including the X Vario, which is highly versatile. But other lenses would also be great. They would transform the X series into even more of a pro-capable compact. The camera body already has a superb interface. Â Leica should consider these three letters for the future: ILC.
prk60091 Posted October 11, 2013 Share #9 Â Posted October 11, 2013 it was my understanding when the x1 came out (and I may be wrong- so do not hesitate to correct me ) is that the lens was designed to maximize the lens with the sensor (i know that did not come out the way it should) Â I think there is a specific reason the x1/x2 come with a 35mm equiv lens. Â I have used the x1 for so long now that when i took my M2 w/50mm out for a spin I felt constricted which led me to put both up for auction.
DirkB17 Posted October 12, 2013 Share #10 Â Posted October 12, 2013 I would instantly buy a X3 with a 50mm equivalent. f2,8 would be sufficient depending on the ISO capacities of the sensor. In a nice smal package . Leica P L E A S E.
XVarior Posted December 1, 2013 Share #11 Â Posted December 1, 2013 No reason they could not do this would be a knockout IMHO Â 35 is a magic number, you won't see anything but this number in future Fixed Lens X.
