jip Posted October 2, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted October 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello I've got a question for the people who know about the DMR. Â I'm using the R8 with the DMR and Vario-Elmar-R 1:4/35-70 Macro lens, I know there is a lens profile for this lens in Lightroom 5, I've seen it in the list. But when I select it it does NOTHING, I don't see the slightest change on the picture, and I have to select it myself from the list, not like with my M9, that it automatically know I use that camera. Â First I thought it was my R8 not making good contact with the lens with the ROM contacts, but it does since on the review screen of the DMR it does show, when I press the 'info' button that I use the 35-70 lens... Â Annyone know why Lightroom doesn't auto detect the lens, or maybe the DMR doesn't store the exif correctly? Â Thanks!!!

dave_d Posted October 3, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted October 3, 2013 You need a ROM lens for the lens info to show up in Lightroom. If you have a ROM lens and it doesn't show maybe you have dirty contacts on the lens or camera body. When I select a lens profile for my Leica R lenses in Lightroom I don't see any noticeable change either. My Nikon lenses on the other hand I see a substantial change. I think this is evidence of the quality of Leica lenses.

robsteve Posted October 3, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted October 3, 2013 Its been a while since I used a DMR, but I think the exif only works for prime lenses and the zooms will not show anywhere except on the back screen of the DMR as you illustrated. Â edit: Â Just checked some images. It is as I described above, primes show in exif, zooms do not.
