Thought you might be interested in this email response I had from Leica when I enquired about a firmware update for the Digilux 3 along the lines of the recently released one for the L1:

 

"Thank you for your e-mail. Leica are preparing a firmware update for

the LEICA Digilux 3 but we have not as yet been given a release date for

this."

That's interesting. I wonder if there is anything focus related in the new firmware. Am I alone in thinking that the AF 'point' selection isn't quite what it should be.

Certainly the Panasonic v2 update did not seem to include anthing focus related. Just auto WB and auto exp. I use centre only on auto focus which improves matters considerably.

 

This does not of course mean the Leica will not address any focus concerns in their own firmware.

Likewise with centre point AF. It can be relied on. But I've tried using multi point in different scenerios and it does struggle. Combine that with AFC and the poor thing just starts sobbing and refuses to play!!
