APX400 off the bat.

There is simply nothing like the"look" of this film on earth..digital cannot and will not ever replace the "look and feel" of film.. unless Fuji continues with its "Direct emulsion" research..which would make an excellent alternative to a cmos or ccd sensor.

Yes John, thanks. Rodinal 1+50 off base eleven minutes ten tilts not inversions to start and two on the minute for duration. Was having a discussion with a few people on 400iso b&w hence the post. I have never got comfortable with APX400, just a confidence thing. APX100 is home. But I need sometimes to get onto somethig quicker. Tried other brands, and either they cant deliver in the highlights and shadows in the same frame. This is only a low resolution single pass scan with minimal work. Not great photo, but given the whites and teh variety of blacks about and the time and location...I think it tells a bit about the film. I have some images that have chome handrails and to me it seemed quite staggering.

Anyway, early days. See what I can get with the stuff. It is in good supply. I dont know whether they will be changing the boxs to Rollei in the middle of the year.

I find that the APX 400 is less forgiving , especially in dev mistakes..you have to be right on.. yeah I stil have 10 liters of Rodinal and tons of APX film and lots of AGFA RCC Paper too :)
