Philip Freedman Posted September 23, 2013 Share #21 Posted September 23, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am enjoying using a Fuji XE1 with Leica lenses and a proper Fuji adapter. The EVF is excellent and far better than that which can be attached to a GXR and since it is within the body it doesn't get in the way. The focus assist zoom-in works well. The resolution is also better. However I also have the Fuji 35mm f 1.4 lens and must say that the auto focus is a blessing in many situations. cpclee Posted September 26, 2013 Share #22 Posted September 26, 2013 The Ricoh GXR is a very fine and inexpensive route if you can live with the 1.5X crop. Welcome, dear visitor! cpclee Posted September 26, 2013 Share #23 Posted September 26, 2013 What I've found is that GXR images tend to have less sparkle on screen but produce extraordinary prints. Might have something to do with Ricoh (having the reputation of) applying only very minimal in-camera processing. Also the GXR doesn't use an AA filter. Peter Lea Posted October 1, 2013 Share #24 Posted October 1, 2013 A query for Jay B and Viramati: have you tried using the 35mm summilux aspherical with the Fuji XE-1? I understand it may not work with the Fuji M adapter. Many thanks Peter
Jay B Posted October 1, 2013 Share #25 Posted October 1, 2013 Sorry, I don't have one to try. But I understand that most versions of that lens will work. The Fuji adapter comes with a tool to verify a lens will work - take your 'lux to the shop and ask to try it prior to purchasing the adapter.
Peter Lea Posted October 2, 2013 Share #26 Posted October 2, 2013 To whoever is interested: I've now had a chance to try the Fuji M adapter with the following lenses, all of which physically fit on it: Xeiss 18mm F4, 35mm F1.4 Asph FLE, 50mm F1.4 Asph, 75mm F2, 90mm F2.8 Elmarit, 135mm F3.4. I hvaen't had a chance to shoot pictures with any yet, as I'm waiting for my XE-1. As always, YMMV. Peter Lea
