South Bird Posted September 9, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Tonight after a month of reliable shooting my M froze at sunset. I turned it off and took the battery out several times to no avail. It was odd, the menu bottom and play buttons worked, but the shutter did not. Live view did not. When I turned it on no frame lines appeared. Shutter did nothing. Battery was 75% charged and using a San Disc Extreme Pro 64. No past problems with the card. Any fix ideas short of return to the dealer which is a bummer as I go to Europe in 3 weeks?

Any fix ideas short of return to the dealer which is a bummer as I go to Europe in 3 weeks? I encountered the same thing last week on my M8. After shooting several frames the machine froze with an indication of a full-powered battery. Taking out and re-inserted that battery several times didn't solve the problem. (This happened oftern before) And I put in another battery, it worked! Please try the second bettery. For me, it seems to be the symptone caused by the Leica digital M DNA, a compelling reason for me to wait for the to-be-cured next generation M. 01af Posted September 9, 2013 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2013 And even when your battery appears to be at 75 %, try re-charging it anyway. Problems like yours seem to occur with new(ish) batteries and tend to go away after a couple of discharge/recharge cycles. Also try a different memory card. Good luck! Luakbay Posted September 13, 2013 Share #7 Posted September 13, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately nothing worked. Camera is off to New Jersey tomorrow. I had the same problem, and I changed a different SD card, and reinsert the battery. It worked. Good luck! Cheers!
