Home computer and monitor

You might want to start by reading this.

My settings may not be the same as yours, as these were determined based on my own gear, my illumination and my print goals. For example, I had to experiment with screen intensity to better match print versus screen 'brightness,' ultimately set at 85 cd/m sq. Other typical settings for me are white point D50, gamma 2.2, with contrast ratio of 250:1. YMMV, as needed.

If you really want to go crazy on a fully calibrated workflow, you can use a print viewing booth calibrated at the same Kelvin temp as both your monitor and the lighting used to display your prints. But that's probably more than you want to know or do, although the overall goal is to get predictable and reliable results from camera to screen to print (and display), without a lot of trial and error.
