algrove Posted October 1, 2013 Share #21 Posted October 1, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) On another thread I commented that the Leica case is a nice addition. The front grip is helpful, but for me it could be double the thickness it currently is now. Nothing is ever perfect, but it is getting better. Agree that removing the TU often might not be good over the years as it is metal to metal whereas the EVF is plastic.
Advertisement Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hi algrove, Take a look here Leica M240 and Thumbs-up EP-10S.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
MaxJ1961 Posted October 2, 2013 Share #22 Posted October 2, 2013 I just received my Thumbs-Up EP-10S. My M240 felt naked without it.
bab Posted October 3, 2013 Share #23 Posted October 3, 2013 The major drawback is no terminal connection to handle the flash, transmitter or evf, I expect an updated version soon well as soon as the next M is released.
suneohair Posted October 3, 2013 Share #24 Posted October 3, 2013 I agree. I love the new Typ 240 Protector. It's a real step forward in ergonomics, quality and fit from the M8/9 one, and with the small built in thumb grip on the M, I personally feel no need for the TU (unlike with my M9-P, where I had one). I would also find the TU a pain with the EVF - which I want to be the only thing I ever mount and dismount from the hotshoe of my M. Does the 240 protector utilize the tripod mount or is it "free floating." Thanks! Edit: Found the answer. Looks like it doesn't secure to the body really. leicatraveller Posted October 3, 2013 Share #25 Posted October 3, 2013 i have EP-10S, i really like how it fit with camera just 2 things i dont like 1) paintings...after first time you put in hot shoe its already without painting 2) its costly (considering the price at least....a good painting:D i m using with a italian half case of Angelo Pelle , with the grip on the front part of half case, and thumbs up on the back handling is perfect (and i feel camera well balanced)
jcraf1 Posted October 3, 2013 Share #26 Posted October 3, 2013 Does the 240 protector utilize the tripod mount or is it "free floating." Thanks! Edit: Found the answer. Looks like it doesn't secure to the body really. Actually, it secures much better than the M8/9 protector, just using the protector's press stud fixed fittings over the camera's strap lugs. I am using a Barton wrist strap on the right hand lug, nothing on the left hand one, but the typ 240 protector doesn't budge.
