Peter L Posted August 25, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Leica X Vario is an outstanding camera, probably the most fun I have had with any camera. The camera is suitable for novices to photography and experienced photographers The beginner can start at once taking excellent images after a brief perusal of the manual and using the auto settings. The more experienced photographer can dial in his own preferences, such as -1/3 ec , iso settings etc. Auto focus is accurate (for me) coupled with some auto settings allow the user to concentrate on composition rather than the camera . The focal range is all one needs for most circumstances and encompasses the most used Leica lenses, 28, 35, 50 , 70 mm, 90mm would have been nice for portraiture however, the lens design is almost compromised as it is, that being said , the lens is outstanding and renders beautiful images. The handgrip definitely helps to stabilize the camera and allows one handed shooting. As others have mentioned, the X Vario is extremely well built with ascetically beautiful lines, I expect this camera to have a long life cycle probably something like 7 or 8 years as the image quality is outstanding and need no improving for this kind of camera. So there you have it, a non technical review, as a retired geophysicist, being thoroughly familiar with the transmission of energy and light , I could have done so with all the boring curves and graphs,( too much work, I am retired) however , this is more intended for those who are looking at this Leica X Vario and wondering if the camera is suitable for them. If you are considering this camera and can afford it (it is not inexpensive, although not expensive for what you get), go for it , you won't be sorry. The Leica X vario is an outstanding camera. I will add some images later Peter

salim Posted August 26, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 26, 2013 lovely and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. Every camera made has a certain market it targets. The Vario has its own market segements as well. And at the end of the day the best camera is the camera you own.
