Hello all.

First of all I would like to thank all of you who helped me in my first steps with Rodinal, It is going great!

I am going to shoot in a rather light-limited environment (done it before with Tri-X at box speed and it was hard to get anything out of it) and I will be shooting a roll of Tmax 3200 at 1600 and a roll of Tri-X at 1600 as test rolls. I was wondering if you had any tips for developing those films at those speeds with Rodinal.

Any input is always appreciated

Thanks for taking the time.

Guy.

Have a look at the massive dev chart; it lists development times and dilutions at different ISO ratings in different developers.

Rodinal is here.

Also, member semi-ambivalent posted this yesterday in a different thread:

When the light is very low and I shoot hand-held, I no longer bother with metering because it just wastes time (and my meter is not sensitive enough) to tell me what I already know: it's too damn dark! So I simply shoot at 1/8 or 1/15, because that's literally all I can do in the circumstances (tripod and long exposures being not applicable).

Thanks rpopescu. I am very well aware of the MDC. What a great resource :) The Flickr thread is great. Thank you for bringing that one up.

I don't bother with the meter either when shooting in low light but I won't go lower than 1/30 for anything hand held hence me wanting to shoot Tmax at 1600 (3200 is also an option) and Trix at 1600.
