Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted August 17, 2013 Share #21 Posted August 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I find the rear cutouts rather messy. Not what I'm used to from Luigi. I had the same issue with the Luigi case that I bought for my M9-P, it covered the top left hand button....whatever that button was. Not waht you would expect for 500 bucks:eek:

AlanJW Posted August 17, 2013 Share #22 Posted August 17, 2013 Not to my taste, but to each his own. However, if you are going to use a case, at a minimum it should be functional.
dwbell Posted August 17, 2013 Share #23 Posted August 17, 2013 It really depends on the required function and personal taste. For my RF use this sort of thing is unthinkable. I run naked body without lens cap and with the crappy Leica strap cut in half to form a wrist strap on the LH side. Any bag I use is an old Domke with labels removed. I want quick access and not to draw attention to myself. However, my 'location gear' is two carry on sized black ballistic nylon roller cases with DSLR and lenses in one and Eli battery strobes in the other, plus a shoulder bag of stands. This gear is no more subtle or tasteless than the OP is demonstrating. More so arguably. So it's each to their own. I don't feel in a position to judge. It wouldn't suit my shooting style with the DRF, and is too "nice" for my DSLR mode.
Guest Emile de Leon Posted August 17, 2013 Share #24 Posted August 17, 2013 Jeeze..you guys are cold... And anal...hahaha.. Its a friggin camera case.. You put it on..like a coat in winter.. You can shoot w/it on or off.. Just like sex..hahaha.. I would buy this in a min.. If I owned a digital M.. The Noct fits fine.. It looks tough as nails.. Will do the job.. Actually protecting the cam when not in use..
gabriel Posted August 17, 2013 Share #25 Posted August 17, 2013 I sent a shot of my case to Luigi with the same rear cut-out misalignment as on the photo on this thread but he did not seem to think that it was any problem at all. This is not the quality we have come to expect from Luigi at the high prices he charges and in future I will look elsewhere for my cases

StephenPatterson Posted August 18, 2013 Share #28 Posted August 18, 2013 Interesting that the OP's case rear opening and my case's rear opening are slightly different. On mine there is less leather between the optical viewfinder and the LV button, making the button easier to access.
pedaes Posted August 18, 2013 Share #29 Posted August 18, 2013 Interesting that the OP's case rear opening and my case's rear opening are slightly different. On mine there is less leather between the optical viewfinder and the LV button, making the button easier to access. I think there is a degree of luck involved as the cases aren't precision pieces as is the case (pun not intended) with hand cut and made leather goods. There is obviously little room to spare at this point, and whilst mine is somewhere between the two examples shown, it is not a problem in use. I usually just press the leather that part covers the LV button if I want to use live view , which isn't often.
HeinzX Posted August 18, 2013 Share #30 Posted August 18, 2013 I own no Luigi halfcase, but an Angelo Pelle - regarding cut-out and the Live View button it ist just the same with my halfcase for the Leica M - as seen before on the AP page. But this is really no problem - I push the leather - it works properly (if I do not either use the rangefinder or the electronic finder).
BerndReini Posted August 18, 2013 Share #31 Posted August 18, 2013 Who did the brown leather on the camera? Is this a Leica custom job? I really like it and would love to know. Thanks.

Judging from the OP's title I would think the covering comes from JnK, the same people who make the "Arte di Mano" cases. Jjbru Posted August 18, 2013 Share #33 Posted August 18, 2013 Hello, Ive got mine one week ago, excellent very soft inside, a dream. The leathernis a bit thick, it will need a few months to get a nice patina:)
Shade Posted August 19, 2013 Share #34 Posted August 19, 2013 Wow the camel skin looks really gorgeous. But I prefer Arte Di Mano's case as well, it's more "fitting".

marknorton Posted August 19, 2013 Share #37 Posted August 19, 2013 Trying to put a positive spin on this, since the LV button is inaccessible and it has just arrived, maybe you can return it as being unfit for purpose?

StephenPatterson Posted August 20, 2013 Share #39 Posted August 20, 2013 In this instance I think Luigi did make a mistake on the rear opening, as you can see the difference between my case and the OPs. I once had an issue with a case from Luigi and he was responsive and offered a repair or exchange at my preference, which is just another reason why I like doing business with him. Telfs Posted August 21, 2013 Share #40 Posted August 21, 2013 In both cases (pun intended) the ambient light sensor for the LCD monitor is partially covered. Does this render the automatic brightness option useless?
