I have found that now I have the 466B&W filter on that the built in lens hood is not as effective because of the increase in the length of the lens.

I am sure there must be another lens hood that I could use, any suggestions?

I tried to imagine owning the M8 without the knowledge and help of this forum and I froze in fright at the prospect.

Regards

Tom

Tom, the appearance of the lens is that it is longer, and physically it is. However, the filter is not part of the lens itself. The lens of the 50 stops at the original front element.

Your hood will do the same job with regard to the true lens as it always has.

The only drawback that derives from the filter is that you may get flare with strong oncoming light. Don't worry about the original hood.

Also, if the filter has a spot on it, that spot is also out of the lens itself. It won't have the same effect as a spot on the actual front element. Note: this is not a suggestion to keep your lenses dirty.
