That said, cameraquest says it will upgrade them for use with the M8 if you are the 'orignal' purchaser from cameraquest.com if not they want $150US plus shipping.  I bought mine (mint) from a member of RFF who in turn had recently bought it from camerquest. Cameraquest still wanted money from me to upgrade the lens - even though it was purchased from them, but I was not the original purchaser.  I contacted VC about this - they tell me they have no such policy and that cameraquest should upgrade lenses purchased from them without qualification (free) as requested by end users + the cost of shipping... rather than argue I sold the lens to someone who will use it on a Bessa film camera and was not concerned about the M8.  I since purchased a second 35mm Nokton that is M8 ready for the same price as cameraquest. I have not shot a great deal with it. I stuck with the lens hood that comes with the Nokton - it covers less of the viewfinder than the optional vented hood, but that is strictly a preference. The vented hood is very cool looking  The lens does not disappointed - and in my humble opinion performs upto and better than the original Noctillux 50mm F1.2. For well under a $1000US you have a 47mm F1.2 ASPH for the M8.  Sorry for all the detail. The link below are some shots with the Nokton.
