krimple Posted April 8, 2007 Share #1  Posted April 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, all... I've recently cleaned my sensor with Eclipse fluid and have shot some high ISO images, and am not sure whether any of this can be related, but...  It turns out I have speckled noise in the blue channel, specifically if I shoot at higher ISO, and if I slightly underexpose--especially in florescent lighting. We have a ceiling fan with lights that I set up as florescents, and I'm always having a hell of a time taking pictures in that room due to strange white balances and color casts, etc...  Here is a small crop of the image, blown up 400% so that the pixels can be easily seen. The noise is NOT random, it comes in clumps, etc. I inspected the sensor, and after cleaning with sensor swabs and eclipse, I noticed a few dots of cleaning marks, and am afraid to clean it again because I am worried that the original Eclipse fluid is removing some sort of coating on the sensor, and don't want that to happen. I'll be ordering Eclipse M2.  But, has anyone else seen this kind of noise? Would damage to the coating on the sensor cover cause noise in the blue channel?  http://farm1.static.flickr.com/174/450341921_44b57d25cb_o.jpg  Any thoughts? Thanks -- this forum is very insightful and helpful to me!  Ken Rimple
