albertknappmd Posted April 7, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) when I used Lightroom yesterday to process images I noticed that if I export PSD,TIF or JPEGs to my hard drive in the standard manner that they are immediately readable. I do have Photoshop CS2. BUT, IF I EXPORT A DNG FILE, IT COMES UP AS UNREADABLE...You get a notice that you must find a program on your PC to read it. I then select Photoshop CS2 and it is read without a problem. Is this a glitch and how to repair?
Advertisement Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Hi albertknappmd, Take a look here lightroom question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jager Posted April 7, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 7, 2007 That's an OS file-type association issue, not a Lightroom problem. If you're running Windows, right-click on one of your DNG files, then go into Properties (not "Open With"), and change the program you want to open with there. That makes it global. If you're on a Mac, similarly, right-click and go into open with... Â Jeff
Guest sirvine Posted April 7, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 7, 2007 You're on a mac? Try selecting the DNG in the finder, and "get info" (either AppleKey+i or select Get Info under the File menu). Then you will see in the get info window, a section labeled "open with...". If the arrow is pointing right, click it and select Photoshop from the drop down menu. Then click the "change all..." button under the words "use this application to open all documents of this type." Â Good luck

I obviou:) sly clicked it and no further problems...
