If you also want to use an old Elmar 3.5-50mm ltm - here for example the nickel version of 1933 - on the M8 without magenta distortions for color photos, an UV / IR cut filter is necessary.

There have been never made any A36-clip-on UV / IR cut filters, I presume.

With an adapter, you could use E39 filters, but only the small E19 filters provide access to the aperture lever on the front lens without removing the filter.

The E19-UV/IR-Cut-Filter should be produced at Kenko, they are sold through the same importer who also offers the Sonnetar 1.1-50mm for Leica-M.

Now I am missing "only" the special arched Leica front cap that fits over the front element and the filter.

M8.2, 'cron 50 coll., SOOOKY-M.

Where can I get this filter?

Probably this UV / IR cut filter is no longer made in size E19.
The times of M8 production have long ended.
Maybe a question at http://www.japanexposures.com/shop/accessories/uv-ir-cut-filter-19mm.html will help, if one of these filters has been forgotten behind a drawer, another company has taken over production and sales or a one-off special production would be possible.
Lastly, a good optician should be able to grind the glass of a slightly larger UV / IR cut filter for another emptied E19 socket.
Good luck with your search.
