Hey Zoom, I don't have an M9 but I use the WATE and also just received the 21 SEM to use on the M. My limited time with the 21SEM have suggested there can be a tad of corner smearing in some images while the WATE is totally free from it. If you're still wondering about which focal lenses you need then I think the WATE will satisfy your curiosity. A good reason to go for 21SEM or an 18SEM is if you need the absolute best performer in those particular focal lengths. Here are some samples with the WATE to show you its performance and Merry Christmas!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experience and images. I think the WATE makes sense. I just have to wait a few more months (to save up the extra cash) before I can purchase it and a suitable viewfinder.
