innerimager Posted June 27, 2013 Share #3 Posted June 27, 2013 Thanks! As a Jeff Bridges fan, (and his dad), this was surprising and very cool. I never heard of the camera he uses. Anyone here ever try it?

Phil U Posted June 27, 2013 Share #5 Posted June 27, 2013 *hand up* I use a widelux! It's a great camera and I thoroughly recommend it, if you can find a good one. Phil Urwin: widelux
philipus Posted July 5, 2013 Share #6 Posted July 5, 2013 I've always wanted a panoramic and had my eyes on the F8, but there are also others. Btw Bridges's site has some nice shots and Widelux tips.
AlanG Posted July 5, 2013 Share #7 Posted July 5, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I always liked this kind of camera. I used to have a WIdelux and had issues with it not panning smoothly resulting in vertical banding. I had to have mine repaired so check this before buying one. I have a Horizon 202 which works very well but isn't an incredibly sharp lens. There are unusual results when shooting towards the sun or other lights as the lens flare will be dramatically cut off at a point when the lens moves. Stitching and sweep panorama features in digital cameras have taken over most of what these can do. I've always wondered why these companies did not make digital versions since it should be pretty easy to insert a simple 1 line scanning sensor. Perhaps none are sensitive enough to provide enough speed. (That why Sietz says their digital pano cameras are so unique and expensive.)
Guest Posted July 5, 2013 Share #8 Posted July 5, 2013 Jens Olof Lasthein. No Hollywood star. But the best I know of with this tool. He apppeared (Leica Barnack Award 2010), I'm happy to have two of his books. And now his website is empty.
