leicapages Posted April 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) My old projection screen needs replacement. The current one I have is pearl-white. Could I sound people out on recommendations for type of screen to purchase? I am using it with the Leica Pradovit P2002 projector. All this in a typical home setting (no presentation in large rooms). Thanks.
Advertisement Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Hi leicapages, Take a look here screen for slide projection. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leicapfile Posted April 6, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 6, 2007 Pascal, Presume by the term 'pearl white' you mean the old beaded screens. For many years I've used the grey color screens. Trusting my memory (and my spelling) lenticular screens I think they were called. Very good color rendition from my slides and old movies. Can't give you the brand as I long ago dissembled it and hung it on the wall. Might be something newer out today as I had mine for a long time. With the low popularity of slides, and even lower of movies, it may be that no one makes screens anymore. Best, Jerry

leicapages Posted April 6, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted April 6, 2007 Thanks for the info. Does anyone use a plain white wall instead of a proper projection screen? Does that work as well (for home use)?
Mountaineer-American Posted April 6, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 6, 2007 During the hey-days of Kodachrome, 1950s, 1960s,1970s, half the people in America used a plain white wall to show their vacation slides. The other half used either a plain white bedsheet or a screen. "Don't start vast projects with half-vast ideas."
