Albert Andersen Posted June 17, 2013 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. I have just got my new Leica M240 to day. There was dust on the sensor, but is was easy the blow away, so no problem, but when I turned the camera off, according to the instruction, nothing happened . The camera locks, no reaction from any buttons. I have to remove the battery, and turned it on again. After that it works normally. Battery was full charged. I tryed a second time, but with the same result. Is it a known failure there will be corrected by a firmware update?

pop Posted June 17, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 17, 2013 The camera waits for some time before closing the shutter and turning itself off; from memory I'd say about ten seconds or thereabout. During this time you can see a red light flashing on the front side of the camera.
Albert Andersen Posted June 17, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted June 17, 2013 Thank you for your reply. I am used to the M9 and expected the same reaction. Beat regards Albert

viramati Posted June 24, 2013 Share #6 Posted June 24, 2013 I cleaned my sensor yesterday and noticed this strange behaviour when turning the camera off. Seems a somewhat strange way of implementing sensor cleaning as it just gives more time for dust to get back onto the sensor with the shutter open.
