Thank you all for your kind comments on my last pics! Since I took these pictures I could hardly await the time for the film to be processed :) I think I will stay with this development time at the lower temperature, as it gave a finer grain than my previous attempts at 20°C. Finally I found a good way to treat the good old TRI-X.

@Brendan: Keep up with this good work, I really like your style with these hard contrasts!

As this is a thread about pictures, I will show you two more pics showing two of the three best things I have in life. Both from the same roll as before:

Just up the road from from my place…

1932 Leica II, '38 uncoated 90mm f4, Portra 160

Now, off in a couple of days to NYC for a while to visit family and run around the big city. Of course, I'll be taking a couple of Leica bodies and a few lenses with me… and plenty of film!

This has a soft side and particularly relaxing these images with the couple of old Leica camera and modern film.

A beautiful mix that erased the "digital" side of digital photos .

Beautiful color and romantic picture :)

Thanks

It's been a rough couple of weeks but I got back behind a camera today. Has anyone any experience with the way a battery fails in an MP? The meter was a bit strange today—flashing back and forth between one thing and another. The film, XP2, was exposed at my usual ISO200, and developed in my usual regime of 1:100 Rodinal. But there were whited out negs and black ones, along with a very few decent ones. I've changed the battery in case that was the problem and I'll try again tomorrow, weather permitting.

Thanks, Henry. Yes, it's the mix of old and new that I like. The older, uncoated lenses in particular, paired with modern, higher contrast films I find quite interesting.

Nowadays, my "modern" lenses are those from the late 1950s to the mid-60s! :)

I think I have solved the MP's meter problem. The light meter kept on jumping from one value to another—I could see this while metering as I could adjust the shutter or aperture until the central red dot showed, then suddenly, without moving the camera or the light changing, I would see an arrow and it would take two to three stops to bring the red dot back. The films were best described as randomly exposed. A thin white negative followed by a black one. Three or four in the roll were OK. I changed batteries, twice, without benefit. I cleaned the contacts in the battery compartment, again without benefit. I wondered if the new Luigi case with no cut-out for the ISO dial was putting intermittent pressure on the dial and altering its function, so I carefully cut out a circle with a scalpel. No help at all. Eventually the penny dropped—clean the contacts between the back flap and the body that instruct the meter about the ISO setting! I used the eraser on the end of a pencil, and some undiluted Kodak stop bath (strong acetic acid is great for this), dried it carefully, and all seems well.

In celebration I'll post up a photo of a friend of mine who loves to kick up his heels and dance. It's from that roll of Ektar that I developed by accident in TMax.

"that I developed by accident in TMax."

Chris it's still a nice picture :)

For your MP, it could come from the contacts at the Isos right ?

On the M7 , I check occasionally electrical contacts and the battery status .

I have not changed my battery last since thirty rolls of film. I removed both

batteries when I am not using the camera
