Massimo have you compared a same picture with and without GGR yellow filter ?

Hello Henry,

I made an evaluation of the filter effect on the Monochrom, the Leica 1 (Yellow) is very light, but also the GGr (Yellow-Green) is not intrusive, they improve the contrast just a little.

When I want more contrast I use the Leitz Or (orange), especially for portraits of old people.

Very nice photo Henry,

You should try a Yellow filter when you take photos of mountain in b&w, the sky and the trees will result much better.

Massimo thanks for your comment and for your suggestion.

Just to day , I want to purchase a yellow filter to put on my 2 summilux 35 or 50 size E46

My Leica Center adviser cannot find it , only polarized E46 at BW

I want to highlight clouds in landscape

To highlight the clouds the yellow filter is ok, you can try B+W, Heliopan and Hoya, they are all very good filter and are less expensive than Leica.

Fuji 100 is also in slide ? it is Provia ?

Thanks for your kind comment, Henry!

I think it was "AGFA CT precisia" and this is called to be Provia.  Colours are a bit more saturated than the sensia, so it could be true.

A high quality film anyway and "Made in Japan"...  ;-)

The B&W- Filters with MRC- Coating are the best you can buy for money, in my opinion. I would prefer them over a Heliopan with a

expensive "Leica"- Stamp on it ;-)

for example:

MP, 2.8/135, FP-4

I decided on that occasion to carry the 2.8/135 with me for the MP. With respect

to size and weight it's a monster, but I used it - surprisingly - quite a lot. In terms

of handling it is quite well balanced, the only disadvantage I thought was that the

rewind-button is hidden under the "glasses" and difficult to reach. The Bokeh you

get in B&W seems ok (have to try colour on occasion), at least in the example

above the unsharp areas in the foreground and background seem nicely balanced.

I know it's a bit of a matter of taste, but Henry, you could also consider an orange filter that accentuates clouds in the sky just a bit more. The disadvantage may be that, depending a bit on lighting conditions, people's skin tones attain more "marbleness", meaning that the gray scale of the skin shifts further into the whites...

Thanks Christoph

Normally I never use filter but I want just to try

I remind that Adam already asks me once if I use filter ... sometimes i just underexpose a bit (1-2 stop)

to highlight clouds

Christoph I love the 135 because you can have a nice bokeh  like in your picture

....  and my poppies pictures.

I'll try to shoot another subject with this lens. For me your picture posted is perfect :)

It's lighter than SLR tele :Dand usually I put the camera on tripod or monopod

All 135 manufactured by Leica are good lens :)

Christoph I forget to tell you that  I have a Leica hand grip and may be for that reason

it's lighter for me. I have a easy handling with this grip when I mount the 135 on the camera :)

MP with Apo Telyt 135 Asph :)

This shot was taken about 4 weeks ago on a visit to a lovely village called Kirk Ireton where you went on a trail around the village visiting gardens, this lady had a very small garden that she was very proud of so i asked if i could take her portrait. Taken with my Fuji GW690 on Foma 400 film

I love how she has placed her left leg

Henry,

Your Apo-Telyt weighs only 450g, My Elmarit-M goes with 730g on the scale!

But I like the googles of the Elmarit-M to get a better view on the composition.

I don't use a Hangrip on my MP, but it is almost married to a Leicavit, which

serves the same purpose...
