erl Posted June 8, 2016 Share #16761 Posted June 8, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just returned to processing colour film. My old stock of dev is off I believe so need to replenish with fresh supplies. However, here is a spontaneous street shot taken when shooting a test roll of Portra 400, exposed at 800ASA. The dev was 'old' Fuji C41 stock. Will now switch to Tetenal for scale of economies in future. Camera Leica M7, lens 75mm Summicron. Scanner, Nikon Coolscan 5000. Guest )-( Posted June 8, 2016 Share #16762 Posted June 8, 2016 Perhaps not the most interesting subject, but I love how HP5+, a yellow filter and the DOF drifting off presents these big old Fig trees.
sblitz Posted June 8, 2016 Share #16763 Posted June 8, 2016 More cheesiness from London... Which do you like better? Tower Bridge EKTAR London cheese.jpg First one without question, to me at least. The vision is much simpler and direct. With the second I'm not sure what where you are trying to direct my attention. That being said I am jealous of your going to London and be able to bring this equipment and take these shots. Well done!!!!! A miller Posted June 9, 2016 Share #16766 Posted June 9, 2016 I'm not a lover of selective colour but I can cope with this one Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk ok, I will admit that the photo is much more fartsy and hardly any artsy. Kodalith ortho nice play on contrast, Gary Hi Adam, since you asked, I prefer the first, it's a cleaner image and to me is therefore stronger. Oh and thank you for the greetings sent via Christoph! Kind regards from Sweden Charles Hi Charles! Yes, I was delighted that your name came up in my visit with Christoph a few weeks ago. Perhaps one day I will have the pleasure of also meeting you in person First one without question, to me at least. The vision is much simpler and direct. With the second I'm not sure what where you are trying to direct my attention. That being said I am jealous of your going to London and be able to bring this equipment and take these shots. Well done!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks, Steve. I also don't know what I was trying to get exactly from any of the photos. I just tried to "sense" a good photo with the blazing car headlights. In the first I was actually a little proud of myself of getting the Shard exactly where I wanted it in the frame. But that doesn't mean it was a successful photo. The colors do a lot for the image. I am happy with how Ektar performs at night.

gbealnz Posted June 9, 2016 Share #16774 Posted June 9, 2016 Always nice to view on the light-table a 6x9 slide, always. Not having as much "fun" scanning the bigger sizes, I guess I have been spoilt by the Plustek when doing 35mm. Gary Welcome, dear visitor! gbealnz Posted June 9, 2016 Share #16776 Posted June 9, 2016 Thanks Steve. There's a story, as always. I started with a Plustek ages ago, sold it, and after a while found and bought a Leica BEOON. Thought it was the bee's knees. Used it for all manner of "scanning" with the Leica T on top. After the T and I parted, I pressed into service an old (but great) Fuji X-E1. Then a few months ago I chanced on another Plustek, and this Plustek and I have really bonded, I definitely find scanning with it, "easier". BUT, it's 35mm only (naturally), so any 120 stuff I dust off the BEOON, grab the apo Rodagon, and the X-E1. But now I have been using the Plustek for a while I find the BEOON isn't as good as I recalled. For older, casual 120 scanning the BEOON will suffice, but if I ever weaken and get another M/F camera then I am stuck, and will have to do something positive about a M/F ability scanner.
