OK, so a bit of an experiment, with too many factors to make any real sense of the outcome.

I bought locally a bit of "older" film, outdated even, but it was priced right and I figured what the heck. Yes, I could hear, and can still hear Adam, Don't use crap film", but I bought it anyway.

First roll was a roll of Fuji Superia 400. I ran about half of it through the M7, and tried a new to me SA21, plus I used the standard 50 Summicron (I have two of them now, a real Leica lens aficionado, this was the V3 rigid, not the old collapsible).

Lacking dark and steamy alleyways like there abounds in NY I stalked the neighbours, the local mares and foals etc. Plus our garden.

The mares shot is with the M7 and SA21.

Then I removed the part-used roll, and slipped it into my old Leicaflex SL, an heirloom given to me by a friend before he died a couple of years back. Only lens I have is the old V1 Summicron R 50mm. I wanted to see if there was any likelihood I could use just the SL, instead of the M camera. Answer is "maybe".

The camellia shot is with the SL, and 50 Summicron, with an Elpro V1a close-up lens fitted.

Thoughts on the film? I'll try another, but right now, I bow to Adam, he's right, old film is not worth (my) time. And I am a real cheapskate. I am not overly sure my processing shop is doing me any favours either, two out of two rolls now with scratches etc. If I want scratches, I can do this myself. Worst part is I also got about 6 rolls of Fuji slide film in this package. I guess it can't hurt to try it, can it?

It's so nice, beautiful colors on both pictures. The development is fine.

I have also a Leicaflex SL I used before , still work but it's too heavy for me now. I prefer M camera

lighter.Leicaflex SL is equivalent to the MP just one battery to measure the exposure simple and efficient

the result is a perfect picture.

Your Fuji film is good , you must continue to purchase it.

You have now a M7 Gary in addition to M6 ?

Hi Henry.

Yes, still have both M6 and M7. I did for a while contemplate using just the M6 and SL, but might just see how it goes with all.

The Fuji film, well, it have plenty to go yet, so will take the remedy you prescribe and shoot some more.

Checked also the links you supplied, interesting. Thanks for that.

I think you should overexpose this film a bit (expose it like a 200), as it looses light- sensivity over the time. And old, high sensitive color-film will get grainy.

Thank you Klaus, you are very likely correct here, it does look under-exposed.
