Thanks, Henry.

They are with the standard 80mm Planar, and are in Kuala Lumpur. I was struggling with my eyes, and with f/2.8 x 1/60s - More because of my frame of mind than because of the parameters. I ended up with a bunch of poor focus / soft shots, but I like the colours.

Eoin, you mean Neil is with you at KL  :)

Marc,

When I speak "an expert", I mean expert in travel, accustomed to travel, it's a chance

Marc you travel a lot  ?

28 mm for street photos as does Adam or landscapes

and 50 mm  a narrower view (corresponding to angle of view of the human eye)

and the 90 mm still closer (0.70 m) for flowers or other nature topics or as tele

Best

Henry

With the Macro Elmar 90 I can shoot this kind of flower at 70 cms :)

a fabulous lens.

in a pagoda pond.

not knowing to be photographed.

It's just a shame it's so cursedly expensive, I'd have one in a heartbeat otherwise.

amazing shots.  The colors are wonderful and the velvia really hits the spot.  Love them both, though the first is my fav as the detail and colors in the foreground are more pleasing to my eyes than the sky in the second.  Really nice results, though.  It is fun to see the results of a 4x5 from the field.  Also fun to see two vastly different POVs from what appears to be the same spot (one with a long and the other a wide lens).  Cool!

Thank you, Mr. Miller. I have updated the 2nd pic to my sever. I realized I had a Lightroom spotting error that I fixed. Spotting these 4x5 scans takes forever!

ah, yes, I can imagine the spotting can be a pain.  But effort is so worth it!

My guess, like gnuyork, Velvia 1st one, Ektar the 2nd.

I like the second better, it "feels" warmer, slightly.

Both wonderful shots though, hard to differentiate.
