Crack of dawn at 5am?

I didn't stop to ask names, but do vaguely remember someone shouting 'Dawn'  .

(I was late, and the crowd were not rule-followers, so broke their curfew and most shots taken around 6:30am-7:30am :D )

Flyover Country

Falcon Camera, Wollensak Velostigmat 50/4.5, Shanghai 100 (127 Format)

One of those photos that, upon initial scan, I was repulsed; after a couple weeks, I loaded another roll of Shanghai 100 in the Falcon and stuffed the camera back into my coat pocket.

Not content with merely quietly becoming the perfect headline act of "Flyover Country" Wayne, this picture just expresses a timelessness so many pictures aspire to but so very few achieve. Its "faults" - the scars and blemishes that attest to its authenticity and its appropriateness for this wonderful project - are its crowning glory. An absolutely marvelous photograph that few of us could achieve. Bravo.

Thank you so much for the earlier compliment on my shot. It is no small matter that I immediately came to this photo after reading. There is no telling how much film I have burned up on the magnificence of corrugated metal barns, only to never be satisfied. The plant growth; the nail heads with 1/8 inch or more of silver paint (thick enough to cast a significant shadow;) the texture of the metal, paint, corrosion.............I think you mastered it here. As always, your composition is perfect. I would never have considered stepping back a few feet. I always move closer. As close as my lens will focus. So simple. So perfect.

Best,

Wayne

Happy lunar new year. I do not have a rabbit nor a suitable cat but I found a dragon (taken somewhere in 2018 on portra 400).

Happy lunar new year, sorry for not including Taiwan in my initial post. Have a great holiday and celebration. Would love to see photos and learn more as I am only familiar with the Vietnamese traditions.
