Talking of film, a friend gave me a roll of Formapan 100 to try. An interesting film, I enjoyed using it and will try more.

Henry,

my eye was drawn to the vapour trails, unfortunately, but then homed in on the "squiggle" running vertically, between the trails and the buildings. Is this a processing mark? I'm being rude as well as super critical so please excuse this, but was intruiged.

Gary , you have a good eye , pilot's eye :D   after verification, that's right :  a small vertical dark green trail

(a little middle of the photo) after development  . At the time , I was not yet developing myself.

Morality: process yourself your film

Thanks for watching and commenting :)

wow, these are amazing.  the resolution and tonal range are very impressive.  the delicate branches and tree branches and trunks render so naturally.  Any filters used?  Was the film developed normal at box speed or were adjustments made to compensate for the particular tonal range in the scene?

Thanks Adam! The exposure was simply based on the sunny 16 rule with slight correction for the developer I was to use - Spur Acurol-N. (I rated the film at 80 ISO) As opposed to Delta 100, which with Acurol is virtually grain free,  the Formapan picked up a distinguished grain giving the prints a nice character.

Charles

LOL, glad you took it that way Henry.

If you ever saw the film Crocodile Dundee, you'd recall an answer he made.

Like some of my recent processing faults, you should see some of mine. That's not a watermark, THIS is a watermark.

This was the other that I liked from the same morning. I particularly like the unmistakable film-like color of the water (scanned on AUTO and no WB changes) and hint of shadow detail in the face of the sun kiss.  It is less peaceful than the other I just posted, and conveys a different mood...I think...  Couldn't chase away the lens flare with this 60+ yr old lens...but I think is salvageable perhaps nonetheless.

Superb Keith. Again wonderful contrast. Orange filter ?

Thanks, Trev.  No, I used a Rollei medium yellow (filter factor 1.5).  It is on the Rollei's Xenar lens the whole time (well, except for when I have loaded a roll of colour film obviously!).
