5 CAD Samsung P&S and some no name, next to no emulsion, no anti-halo film I received under secret Santa exchange. The film is so thin, one roll is something like sixty frames. I have to cut it in half to load in the paterson reel.

Picture full of mystery ,  very beautiful Ko Fe

Nice black and white tone

I started scanning the film that I shot in Central Park last Sunday morning and this is from the first batch.

It was during the "magic hour" just before sunrise.  I had a feeling of what I would get just knowing the tendencies of Ektar in this situation and given the 6+ minute exposure time (my iso was effectively 40 given the compensation for the center filter).  To me, this is a little like making lemonade out of "lemons."  The lemons being what normally would be considered the ugly blue cast in deep shadow areas that film often produces (particularly Ektar)  and also what normally would be considered ugly orange cast thrown off from artificial lighting.  I got a strong dose of each of these, but fortunately the strong colors are on opposite ends of the color wheel and thus complimentary.

I have a "normal" version of this that I shot a little later in the morning after the sun rose that is in the scanner :)

The Lower Passage under the Bethesda Terrace, Central Park

Ektar, Technorama 617siii, 90mm Super Angulon XL

Lovely panoramic and I think it is the ideal lighting had made it the " top Fizzy lemonade shot "

Truly Adam, some hate citrus flavour and instead go for example other not known flavours and end up making surprising missed mix. But if you know how to make it then lemonade it not a thing very complicate to make . Well done Adam, beautiful as usual.

Terrific shot Cyril, very classic (but were there development problems? The sky and foliage look affected).

Sorry I could not come back to this earlier.

Yes Philipus,  This is a nice shot in this film and it was stick to the another film when it was drying all I had to do was just do few brush up in photoshop ( I don't do those heavy magic retuching  in my photos  normally) So this photo appeared in a publication just as this and it still looks Ok. Yes I could have done something to that dreamy light leak  look on the edge I guess.

Homage to" André Kertész " who taught me this Photo prespective and luckily  I was able to replicate a similar photo on the same location In Paris.

And as he named his photo theme I put my caption for this  as " Intimacy of reading" This is not coping but I say it is influencing. So the copy cat is not at all copying, it  is influencing . One of my layer friend taught  me that. ha ha lack of educating will face bumping walls. 😉

Apologies for my absence from the ever-growing thread. Limited opportunities (and if I was completely honest) some lack of motivation film-wise...  Anyway, the roll of Acros 100 I put in my MP in late August was finished off yesterday in town (see below) and developed /scanned today. All taken with 50mm Summilux-M ASPH. Standby for some uploads!

just finished reading this blog post when i saw your image...very nice.

"A photographer captures the moment without comment. The subject matter which he selected to photograph, says it all - no need for any explanation: the photographer leaves it up to you to appraise his work and get pleasure out of this snapshot of life.

Haiku is also a snapshot of a moment in life. Therefore, choose your words to not only capture the moment, but to enthral the reader. By using few choice words in haiku, one leaves room for the reader to put his own interpretation on the scene which you have described.

With haiku, as in photography, the composition and content is everything. Set the scene and elaborate upon it (the first phrase). Then conclude with what it is that you wish to draw the attention of the reader to - the subject of the haiku. In order to make this punch line stand out, the first phrase is always set in juxtaposition with this second phrase - as in the focal point set against the background in photography.

Haiku is about sensory input, without symbolism and ego (objective). Present your haiku without capital letters and no descriptive words (adjectives) and gerunds (-ing). No title is required. For beginners the 5-7-5 syllable count per line is a good point to start, but the contemporary haiku writers (in English) use far less syllables to get their point across."

"Poetry by other schools is like coloured painting. Poetry of my school (haiku) should be written as if it were black-ink painting." ~Basho
