I have to confess: for shooting this guy I've been forced to use this monster lens:

And yes, it's a Pentax...I confess to bastardise this thread! In my defense I can say the LX is the most Leica like SLR ever built. :p

 

With a 90 mm I would have gone so close this this swan that he or she would have probably attacked me since he was there with the chick:

Massimo I have no filter and I don't use it for shooting (except the neutral UV filter to protect front lens)

The monobath is a mixture of developer and fixer, pH adjusted to 9.5, that allow a film to develop and fix simultaneously. The recipe I use was concocted by Donald Qualls, and uses HC-110 US concentrate, Ilford Rapid Fixer and 5% ammonia. While this was a cheat invented to allow photojournalists to develop films in the field as easily as possible, it actually provides results that are very respectable. When it works, it produces negatives with good contrast and very little grain (the same film in HC-110 done conventionally will be much more grainy). But, and this is a big but, it is terribly prone to uneven development related to the flow of solution across the film. Early recipes for monobaths recommended continuous agitation (Crowley's FX-6a being the best known). This particular one is said to require no agitation, and that works for tray development of 4x5 or 10x8 sheet film, but if I pour it into a Paterson tank I get surge marks from the solution flowing through the sprocket holes, even if all I do is to pour it in. I can agitate afterwards but they are still there. The only way around it I can find is to use a 1950's Agfa Rondinax, which has a vertical film reel and which rolls the reel through the solution. Any surge marks should therefore be on the unused edge of the film and be aligned lengthways. So far I have discovered it works beautifully with Acros 100, quite well with Plus-X, and is a bit more prone to surge marks with faster films but I have managed to get Tri-X and Neopan 400 to work. Adox CHS25 in 120 is beautiful. Consequently I thought a slow film like Pan F would be good, but the negatives are very thin - either I should lower the temperature from 80ºF or expose the film at ISO25 instead of 50.
