Congratulations to Gary and Jane!

(I've been keeping up my film consumption, but lately have been using some non-Leicas, so I can't post them here.)

Me to I have been out with my Rollei 35 an old roll of fuji 1600 wish I could post the shots because I think Henry would like the grain and muted colours

Indeed a gorgeous body, but her face is rather disturbing to me.

In any case, a nice photograph, though wonder why you cut out her legs.

thanks.  Her head is indeed a little alien-like.  Of course, a reflector would have been ideal here so that I wouldn't have had to overexpose so much so as to not lose detail in her face.  As for her legs, bad dog no bone on my part.  There was a hand rail directly behind me and i either was up close or to far away w/ my 28mm.  In any case, a challenge to do better with the next stranger....

What a pleasure to see the results and what a pleasure to be in a "dark" *  room.

What also pleased to be able to frame as you want  with the enlarger (Focomat with Focotar lens)

brief a  great pleasure to be in front of his enlarger not his computer and inkjet printer

What beautiful photos !

very impressive, Henry.  I wish I could do that.  Are those test prints or the biggest you can print with that set up?

Ellie, just wondering: what scanner did you use for your scans on this website?

It's actually simple (and I'm a bit embarrassed), it's the Photo Store on the corner here using a Fuji C41 machine for developing/scanning.

Well, they still look great, I would not know the difference, if there was one.

You, and others posted here, have me thinking to perhaps try XP-2. I have always solely used "real" B&W film, and processed myself.

The XP-2 could perhaps be a good traveling alternative?

Just if anyone is interested, I have scans for download on my new website (see my signature).

Thanks.  I am always amazed at the broad and rich range of tones you are able to get from XP2.  You are very capable with a challenging film.

Yes, even if the old BW400CN was better and also the Neopan C41, which is rumoured to be made by Ilford for Fuji and based on the XP2...even if the results on print are very different.

This it my favourite shot with that film so far.

Hi Adam,

Had a brief look at your set of pics. An interesting model indeed! My preference goes to pic no. 3 as her head is better separated from the background. The"model-like" shots seem too artificial for me. And perhaps I would have moved in for a close-up.

As a side note: while I understand that a 28 with it's seemingly infinite depth of field is the preferred tool for spontaneous street photography, in cases like this, where quick reaction is not essential and a busy background may be disturbing, I would chose a lens setup with significant less depth of field.

Having said all this, I still really like the images, well done!

Best regards

Christoph
