Mute-on Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46282 Posted January 23, 2018 At your service, Steve. Here's the HP5 (box speed) version: WB Bridge - HP5.jpg For comparison, here's the Tri-X (pushed 1 stop) version again: Hmmm. I think I actually prefer the HP5 version. Better detail under the bridge and yet more contrast on the pillars. Great image and very interesting comparison! Great image and very interesting comparison! Cheers J Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks for your opinion. I went for the better exposed/visible horizon with the steam and (to me) appealing sheen on the steel legs of the bridge. Can't go wrong with either, though!
stray cat Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46284 Posted January 23, 2018 I agree with J , the HP5 does it for me too in this instance, for the reasons stated. So pleased, Adam, that you are going to offer some beautiful photographs on F*I*L*M for the LUF charity book! Has anyone else entered work? We really should all consider supporting it if we are able to justify the 30GBP donation to charity. What would it say to the rest of the Leica commuity if the F*I*L*M thread were the best supported in the book?
edwardkaraa Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46285 Posted January 23, 2018 This gets a 'Wow!' from me, Edward! A beautiful shot. The colours, and the strength of composition, are simply wonderful in these pictures from Jordan, Edward. You have recognized the wonderful light and used it to brilliant effect. Awesome, Edward. Love the different colors in the layers of mountains. Thank you very much Guys! Much obliged!

Steve Ricoh Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46288 Posted January 23, 2018 At your service, Steve. Here's the HP5 (box speed) version: WB Bridge - HP5.jpg For comparison, here's the Tri-X (pushed 1 stop) version again: Thanks Adam,An interesting comparison seeing one against the other. It's a close call, but I think I prefer the HP5 version having more shadow detail. The Ektar version is nice also, but I think the subject is better portrayed in B&W, being more graphic. Colour adds a distraction.
AntonioF Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46289 Posted January 23, 2018 So you were too busy to hang around until they were???? With that level of concentration, only good things can happen. Best, Wayne It was way too early. The final results of the frying operations would have looked like this: Olympus Infinity, Tri-X 400 20180107-DSCF0903 by antoniofedele, on Flickr Home made panzerotti typically prepared for the 7th/8th of December in Bari, to celebrate the Immaculate Conception. Steve Ricoh Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46290 Posted January 23, 2018 The 40 f/1.4 from my Pen F is in the lens hospital, and it's looking like I'm going to be without it for 6-8 weeks. Missing it already. Here's a scrag end from the one and only roll of film shot with the combo. Tri-X 400 Funfair Stuff by -Steve Ricoh-

erl Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46293 Posted January 23, 2018 Will you be including any work shot on film, John? So far, my line up has two images shot on film. That may increase as I edit. Yikes! I have to get it down to three images. (currently at 9) I am the worlds worse editor. Seeking other opinions.
A miller Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46294 Posted January 23, 2018 Thanks Adam, An interesting comparison seeing one against the other. Colour adds a distraction. Thanks for your opinion, Steve. I think the difference comes down to the one stop push I gave to the Tri-X, which upped the contrast. My strong sense is that at box speed the Tri-X would have rendered very very close to the HP5. As for which rendition is "better," for me I wanted something a little more dramatic which is why I pushed the Tri-X (I was actually hoping for a little more). I also like the shadow detail of the HP5, however. I think it came out really good. It is, though, somewhat very similar to a photo that I already have in my collection from a few years ago that I took with Tmax 400 (also the SWC): Welcome, dear visitor! As for the Ektar version, it was a throw away roll that I wanted to throw into the mix. In my book, it ended up running the table!
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Wayne Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46297 Posted January 23, 2018 I took the plunge and purchased Diafine. I am curious, are there any films that should specifically NOT be developed in Diafine.Another question:All I am able to find concerning the life of the Diafine developer are testimonials such as "it lasts forever." While I love that idea, I am pretty sure it is exaggeration. Is this stuff like C41 color developer, with a life span measured in number of rolls developed?, or, is it's life more a matter of time on the shelf?I have searched the web and can find nothing other than "forever." wattsy Posted January 23, 2018 Share #46298 Posted January 23, 2018 (edited) Is that a self portrait? I am trying to wok it out. If it is the mirror the writing "Rolleiflex" would be round the other way. But the "Kodak" inscription seems to be correct so you didn't reverse the negative. I am probably being very dim... I think the "KODAK" on the edge of the neg has been flipped. Edited January 23, 2018 by wattsy
