Popular Post sixteen pads Posted November 19, 2017 Popular Post Share #42725 Posted November 19, 2017 (edited) What a day Wasn't feeling too good, kinda overworked, went for a walk. I stumbled upon a black Nikon FG with a 50mm E pancake at a local salvation army store for 30$ canadian. Obviously it was not firing, but I figured I would take my chances, even if the body was fried I could still use the lens. I love those NIkon pancakes btw so no harm done. Minutes later I picked up some batteries in a dollar store few blocks down. With batteries inserted this badboy flapped his mirror down and came to life. Nice I say ! Went and picked some fuji film at a pharmacy. Shot the roll in like an hour, had it processed at my local photo lab ( photo St.Denis in Montreal - if you are ever around and in need of like 30 minute development service those guys are KINGS ) Anyways , I am scanning it now but so far OMG. What a lovely amazing camera this is ! And this lens wow ! Crazy what one can find for 30$ these days. When in nikon land, I am the Nikon F3 shooter and love that thing but this FG fellow is like its little brother with pretty much all the bells and whistles one would need from you day to day gorgeous and handsome film camera. Highly recommended. This my first frame lol. I will be adding more if any worthy shots are found on the roll. gbealnz Posted November 20, 2017 Share #42732 Posted November 20, 2017 I like the sinister atmosphere of the second image. Very eerie, that door is hiding secrets.. Very 1950's Thanks SP. It is actually the "other end" of the building, both pics ore of the same (smallish) building, this being the street frontage which I suspect on a decent day is flung wide open. mikemgb Posted November 20, 2017 Share #42733 Posted November 20, 2017 I took the Gundlach out and shot a few sheets today. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! This is the third sheet I have put through that camera. I still have a lot to learn about large format. I also shot some Ektar but won't develop that for a couple of weeks.
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! I wonder what a crop of the building would show in terms of how much detail has been resolved? No, maybe not - it might make me want to try LF for myself...

I salute your courage in taking on this equipment and wish you well. It is positively monstrous as seen from the perspective in the photo; makes me conjure up images of photographers of times gone, using mules to carry photographic equipment up mountain slopes for landscape shots... Good luck, Mike, you brave man. I hope the results you get are satisfying and commensurate with your efforts.
philipus Posted November 20, 2017 Share #42740 Posted November 20, 2017 Fantastic Gary. Yes I remember those shoes So, Philip and his selfie affliction, well, it's infectious. Gary EDIT: The observant amongst us will recall a shoe picture from Ghent by Henry, same shoes, never got lost in Europe with them on. Small world I have friend who lives on Gotland ..... This is absolutely lovely Christoph. One of the best photos I've seen in a long while. A picture from many moons ago, when Kodachrome still reigned supreme - particularly in Venice. I hope this helps to lure our Doc back home. 8303_Con_KR_01.jpg Contax 139, Zeiss Planar 1.4/85, Kodachrome 64 Regards Christoph Nicely framed Keith and I also like how you've brought out the clouds.
