Suede Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39462 Posted September 2, 2017 (edited) I don't have the Hasselblad any more, but I'm looking forward to putting some FP4+ through the Mamiya 7 soon. stray cat Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39464 Posted September 2, 2017 Actually, here's a pair, taken at the same time as the last waterfall photo, using the (very useful) facility of interchangeable backs of the Hasselblad. Both taken using superb films - FP4+ and E100VS. I chop and change a bit over which one I prefer - do you have any thoughts either way? hopetoun falls, 2012 hasselblad 500c/m, 80mm planar, kodak e100vs (top) and ilford fp4+
Reeray Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39465 Posted September 2, 2017 ^ both look great and stand good in their own right, but, seeing them side by side, I edge towards the colour as there's some lovely subtle tones in there that the monotone misses.
Tmx Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39466 Posted September 2, 2017 I would go for b&w definitely. Great job stray cat!
christoph_d Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39467 Posted September 2, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Phil, All are nice, but my preference is b&w. Oh, and can you pass by and show it in print please, I am sure it gains a lot on a nice piece of Baryt... Rgds C.
Reeray Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39468 Posted September 2, 2017 Horse and Buggy Just dusted off my 1953 Rolleiflex 3.5f TLR having not used it for years. My grandfather bought this camera from new and passed it to me as a 13th birthday present in 1959. I might use a bit more often. Ilford Delta 100 Pro, shot in the shade hand held at 1/15th f3.5. Only color give this impression. For me color first and secondly b&w nice for water Henry
Doc Henry Posted September 2, 2017 Author Share #39470 Posted September 2, 2017 I don't have the Hasselblad any more, but I'm looking forward to putting some FP4+ through the Mamiya 7 soon. It is just a wonderful film, especially I think in medium format: hopetoun falls, 2012 hasselblad 500c/m, 150mm sonnar, ilford fp4+ For the beauty of water , black and white gives a nice rendering here Regards Henry

Guest JMF Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39472 Posted September 2, 2017 Thanks so much ! These pictures from Mongolia are just so "present" - they actually give me some sense of actually being there with their wide field of vision and ezquisite detail. And has been remarked, the colours are just brilliant! Brilliant shot , wow ! I don't have the Hasselblad any more, but I'm looking forward to putting some FP4+ through the Mamiya 7 soon. It is just a wonderful film, especially I think in medium format: hopetoun falls, 2012 hasselblad 500c/m, 150mm sonnar, ilford fp4+

chrism Posted September 2, 2017 Share #39474 Posted September 2, 2017 I just spent all of one penny on this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Larry-Bartletts-Photographic-Printing-Workshop/dp/0863433669/ I believe it consists of Bartlett showing his negatives and then what he did with them in the darkroom to arrive at the final print. (ie that bit we tend to deride as 'post-processing'!) There are more copies left if anyone is interested. Chris
