Calm and plenitude Jean-Marie

Very relaxing atmosphere and with film and the color , the best support

photo for the softness.

Jean-Marie you can find currently Agfa color 160 Isos ?

Thank you

My first roll of Rollei RPX 400 came back from the lab. I like its rendering. Here are a few quick scans:

Lovely smooth tones from a ISO 400 film - the results look very good.

Given the dismal state of our English summer, a brief memory-jogger of warm sunshine & blue skies (Brantome, France).  MP, Elmarit-M 28mm ASPH, Portra 400.

Pippa seems happy and breathing good air of the sea :)

She's right ! nothing can replace the air of the sea ... :)

Henry

Chris do you know you lose details (visible in crop) when you convert ?

I say that because I know you are also a "purist" in photography   :)

Thank you very much for your comment, Keith!

That's a lovely scene there. One can almost feel the warmth and nice sunshine :)

Thank you for this wonderfully evocative description Dan. As a consequence I've just ordered a copy of "The Old Ways" - can't wait to read it with my wife, dreaming of the day we'll get to do some of these walks.

Phil - appreciate the comment.  At first I found the book difficult to read; the reason is that Macfarlane often writes in the 'stream of consciousness' style.  But, persevere, and I'm sure you will find - as we did - that he transports you to places in your imagination which make the effort worthwhile.

Btw, your website is daunting.  Great stuff.  The 'colour' section of your portfolio is ... well, superlatives are easy to say.  It shows a wonderul eye for things.  The grand final at the Melbourne Cricket Gound is a stunner  :o

Henry - the colour.  Only because in that shot I can see the arch, and the light in it.

Great series Dan and nice color

Where is it ?

Thanks for posting

Henry

Henry - thank you.  They are pretty much straight scans on the V700.

The shot with the two guys on the right and the blue lady emerging from the entrance to the Metro was taken at Place St Michel - we were in an apartment nearby, at Rue Git-le-Coeur.

The one of Anne on her iPhone was taken in Le Mas de Montet, near Aubeterre sur Dronne, north east of Bordeaux.

The photo of the cannon was (I am pretty sure) taken in Les Invalides.
