OK, a change from the landscapes! Before venturing forth onto the Ridgeway, I quickly took some interior shots with the 60mm Macro Elmarit-R, including some close-focus ones (hand-held).  (I also took some quite pleasing phtos of my wife beavering away at the sowing machine but she would probably kill me were I to post them here!)

Work In Progress (focus was on the seam).

Remote (focus on the nearest text).

Great definition and tone in these two pictures

Well I think the Massive Development Chart has the time wrong for Pan F in Rodinal 1+100. The negatives are very dark, and overdeveloped (I know the meter is good in the camera so it's not overexposure). Still, rescued in LR.

OM2n, 28/2, Pan F, Rodinal 1+100 for one hour, X1 scan:

A good rescue attempt. I too found PanF to act a bit like a "prima-donna" when it comes to development, and particularly to get quite hard on overdevelopment. When done right though it can deliver outstanding results.

With my Leicaflex SL (1970) refurbished by Wetzlar recently I spend to-day

to take some macro photos with "extension tubes".

One test with Elmarit 90mm and another test with Elmarit 135

the focus is under 0.30 m and much easier with the 135 mm

I recommand this combo for your macrophotos

Here two photos of the equipment

mount with Elmarit 90mm : the focus is nearer and image a little bigger, but less bokeh

attachicon.gifL1017447macroalmar90sllfhtm9+++1000.jpg

and mount with Elmarit 135 with nice bokeh in background .

You can see very well here "extension tubes"

attachicon.gifL1017448macroslelmar135lfht++++1000.jpg

M9-35 Lux Asph

Another equipment :

Tripod (here a Gitzo) + flexible shutter-release indispensable

The focus with 135 is easier and the easiness is better than with 90 , but image is less big....

The second advantage of using 135 mm is the obtention of an image with nice bokeh in background .

The first mount with 90mm reminds me the use of Elpro with the Summicron 50 (Thanks Gary) :)

and it's a bit difficult to focus , especially when windy time !

.... but all macro photography needs patience :)

I will develop. soon the Kodak Portra roll  and I'll post here some photos .

...but you'll  say me , why you don't use the digital camera to photograph (because on picture

posted above , color seems nice but as all of you already know here ,  color is approximate,

that's the reason I photograph macro with film)

Good macrophotos to all of you.... and "I love film"

Best

Henry

It is fascinating how, even in a photograph, the high quality of finish on the camera is so obvious. It looks better than new.

Wayne , yes , still new , refurbished by Leica and really Leica does a great work

and Leica still has spare parts for one camera dated 1969  ie 47 years .

Still operational since back from Wetzlar , now for a new departure...

I use it now for macro photos in the place of M camera

Leicaflex SL a little patinated and refurbished with Leica seal :)

I bought new this first Leica camera in 1969 with the Summicron 50 , when I still was in High School

paid by credit ! Great memories for me !

I like this one too, perhaps even a bit more than the previous one. The Biogon is very useful for photos with lots of straight lines. The one thing that gets in the way, for me, of full viewing pleasure is that the highlights 'scream', for lack of a better word, a bit. It could be the result of viewing the image on the web, of course.

This is a more conventional version of a scene that i shared last week.
Rather than the 80mm planar i used the Hassy SWC (38mm)

Across with either an orange or red filter.

Inspired by all the water and boat images earlier, here's one I shot in Lanzarote last winter (about 80% crop).

Very simple and very nice picture Philip

Except the sky with the subtle blue and the yatch , it looks like b&w

Thanks Philip
