Edward color is a bit different of Agfa isn't ? may be skin is more faithful with Fuji IMO

Thank you very much Henry! The Fuji 400H seems to have lower saturation and more neutral color than Vista. I feel saturation is also lower than Portra 400. I like how it reproduces Asian skin tones.

Ian to continue about using b&w versus color , I think some type of pictures

are more adapted in comparison of color , like fog  It's nicer in b&w

The grain of film reproduces better microdroplets of fog water in black and white :)

Just a word to the choir, as the expression goes, I have been thinking about getting an SL for a number reasons and have been looking at examples of the photos people posted in the SL section of this forum and then get back some pics of mine, a mixed bag as usual, and l look at the ones posted here, some better than others of course but that's of no consequence since this is the safe place to show what we've done and want to share, my point is that these film photos regardless all have soul to them that, to me, is missing from the others. So, SL GAS attack has passed, maybe some old R just to have an SLR for certain circumstances.... anywhere here is a shot of my sweet and friends hiking last week in the Berkshires near Stockbridge, MA ....

I like it a lot Henry, thank you. It almost looks like a double exposure.

Reflection for Philip  :)

Nikon Coolscan 5000 with any correction . I want to keep this "yellowish" color

of Portra 160 reproducing the sunset

Very funny, if not one possibly which the lady might not like.

As I said you previously I am also the photographer of the wedding

of Etienne the brother of Sylvain I showed you some pictures above ,

two years ago :)

Here some preparations pictures , during this wedding of Etienne :)

I took all pictures in film Kodak TX400 this time and in color Kodak Portra

Some with digital but not the majority . Finally Etienne , like Sylvain , prefer

pictures in film , better as they said !

Thanks very much Ian.

Philip, with Portra 400 I use my meter at "box speed" but adjust, in my head, for a shutter speed/aperture combination that leans towards some (but not loads of) overexposure. In sunny conditions I often find myself using F11@1/500 as a baseline exposure for Portra.

They're all very good Steve, but the yellow dress is spectacular.

and another ...

The first one is particularity nice Edward.
