So this morning I decided to go out and shoot a few Kuala Lumpur Landmarks. I love this city, such a diverse culture and amazingly friendly people. I actually parked my car in the middle of the road (four way flashers on) and set up my tripod and Chamonix 8x10 to shoot the Parliament building. Low and behold a police car pulled up and was about to tell me to move when he saw my camera and was like Waaa CTFCO.

So we got chatting and I told him that I worked in Nigeria and lived in KL. He said why Malaysia , so I told him that KL is my home and that I love KL.............it put a massive smile on his face and he got in his car and left.

All pictures are taken with Ilford HP5+ 8x10 film and developed with D76

The the first picture is Putrajaya Parliament

The second picture is of Seri-Gemilang-Bridge

I have some more negatives hanging out to dry, I will post them later

Enjoy

Neil I have always said that the profession of photographer is a hazardous and dangerous profession

Still a little, it is our fault if Neil finds himself in prison :D . The Chamonix being considered as a weapon of terrorist.

with this  it only shoots images not scud !

Very nice and superb photos ,  the black and grey tones with nuance are beautiful :)

Thank you

Great work , great result bravo !

It's au revoir from me for a couple of weeks. Keep the great work coming! I'm not going anywhere near Europe, yet strangely, here's a shot from Henry's neck of the woods:

The restricted focussing range with the adapter is a PITA but it is pretty essential if you want to photograph something as small as a butterfly (you will probably get away without the goggles for one of your Monarch butterflies :D but a Common Blue isn't much larger than a thumbnail).

The main selling point of the Macro Elmar-M is IMO its portable size. Both the lens and adaptor fit easily into a small bag and that is the most important feature for me. If it wasn't for that (or the fact that I already own the lens) I wouldn't consider buying the lens – certainly not new (it is one of only two lenses I've bought used). If portability isn't so important, there are far better options for significantly less cost. For example, you could buy a brand new Nikon F6 and the superlative 105/F2.8 VR for less than the cost of the ME-M new.

Ian,

You may have made the "Monarch" comment in jest, but just to let you know how close you are to the mark:

Milkweed plants in our back flower bed. Taken yesterday morning as part of my Canon F1 revival. My wife cultivates a few plants every year for the specific purpose of attracting Monarchs. She instructs that I am not allowed to pull weeds without her supervision. I did  almost pull one of the Milkweed plants this year but was quickly, and somewhat harshly, admonished for my ignorance.
