Doc Henry Posted June 6, 2017 Author Share #33801 Posted June 6, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) This is very nice, Henry. I like the deep, wet blacks. Similar to how Acros 100 delivers them. Me too Eoin .I like the deep and "natural" black as you can only find in film even the MM cannot gives this kind of black (a synthetic black for digit.) . It's worse, the color conversions in black are even more inhomogeneous Thank you for your comment Eoin I like Pan F Plus. I've used it mainly for street scenes, where it delivers nice midtones. Thank you Eoin. These are nice, Henry. Where in Laos were you? All of my time there has been either in the North, up around the China and Myanmar borders, or down around Vientiene. South of Laos (Savannakhet) Eoin in the deep mountain I remember that day because I am loaded like a mule with my medical equipment under heat wave , no guide and we walk in the mountains. I am looking for tree shadows at this moment . Thank you for your comment Eoin. Best Henry Edited June 6, 2017 by Doc Henry

Doc Henry Posted June 6, 2017 Author Share #33808 Posted June 6, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the video link, very cool to see the mill from the river perspective, it must have been pretty bloody fresh in Winter I'd imagine! My kayaking experience in the UK was limited to the River Brue (in Somerset), more of a 'green water' exercise Glad the shot brought back some good memories for you. I have a fair few more from beautiful Llangollen and up to the Pontcysyllte Viaduct to share, slowly working my way through uploading them. This is the Corn Mill from the other side, HP5+, some lens or other - looks like 50mm Summilux pre-ASPH maybe. Having been away from home for over a decade now, I do miss British double yellow lines, no lane too small. Australia is awash with road signs every 10 yards, along with the overhead power lines, it's a constant annoyance for photography. Coogee absolutely nice picture , Ha Ilford film and HP5 unbeatable and in print it'll be nicer I think Finally films are all nice , I don't tell that for sensor Thank you for posting Coogee Best Henry Edited June 6, 2017 by Doc Henry
Doc Henry Posted June 6, 2017 Author Share #33809 Posted June 6, 2017 Thank you James. I recently returned from Berlin and to see this very famous graffiti "Bruderkuss" when it was being created is poignant. When I excitedly saw it I was saddened that a barrier fence had to be erected to protect it and the other wonderful art from graffiti vandals. Guest )-( Posted June 6, 2017 Share #33810 Posted June 6, 2017 You know what interesting me in this picture , it's a wine bottle Nice work Coog Best Henry Thanks Henry but this bottle is, as I like to call it, "Belgian Champagne" -> beer! Before my darkroom was a darkroom, it was home to my brewery where I would try to recreate the great beers of Belgium using grains and hops. One day I realised I really never could better those damned Belgians(!), so I traded the brewery for camera equipment and now the wonders of Orval, Westmalle, Duvel, Cantillon etc. join me whilst I print in the 'abandoned brewery'. wattsy Posted June 6, 2017 Share #33814 Posted June 6, 2017 (edited) Very nice Ian. What magnification will the Macro Elmar give? br Philip It will do 1:3 with the Macro adapter. Not real "macro" but that's okay for what I want it for (flowers and butterflies with a bit of environmental context around them). I'm happy to accept the limitations (the 1:3 maximum reproduction ratio and the limited focussing range of 0.5m–0.76m with the goggles on) for the benefit of the very small size of the lens and adaptor package. I have used a Nikon 105 VR macro in the recent past and it is an exemplary lens that can of course do 1:1 but I know that I simply don't want the bulk and weight of that kind of lens and the camera that goes with it. Another example (uncropped, which is my normal 'policy'). Holly Blue (Celastrina argiolus). These blue butterflies are of course quite small (in this case, no bigger than a thumbnail with the wings closed). wattsy Posted June 6, 2017 Share #33816 Posted June 6, 2017 (edited) And a Green Hairstreak (Callophrys rubi). Even smaller than a Holly Blue so I guess this is probably at closest focussing distance (0.5m). The remarkable thing about the 90 Elmar and Macro adaptor combination is that, when properly calibrated, it is very accurate and an ingenious way of obtaining "macro" reproduction with a RF. Yes I agree with Philip very nice picture with this blue and its nuance. Superb color ! In addition the purple spots are absolutely beautiful ! The Macro Elmar is one of the best lens of Leica . Why ? Definition is oustanding with nice color , contrast and general rendering Good from 4 to 16 with notation 4/5 from left to right vertical line : center, edges, 1/3 and angle and very light as tele 90 !
