Captain. For twelve years now, a faithful companion to my farmer, neighbor, D. He will not leave me alone until I have given his ears a five minute scratching....Big whiner!

I feel obligated to take a photo of him every time I visit. Just as with some people, it is hard to get him to look at the camera.

The petal of poppies is well reproduced by film

I mean the "thickness" , not "thinness"  like cigarette paper in digital not natural

with "soft" natural edges and lines , like nice lady face portrait of Edward posted above ! :)

No poppies here at the moment Henry, it's nearly winter, and in fact the outside temp is a measly +2º as I type this, brrrrr.

Here's a bit of red for you though. Dublin Bay, nearly done it's dash for this year.

And in preparation for the Europe trip I am racking my brain trying to work out film stocks to take.

Last time (2015) I took all manner of film, T-Max 100, FP4+, Delta 100, and some Tri-X (no colour, used the X-Vario for that.

This time I had settled out on Delta 100, and Ektar 100, in both 35mm (for the MP) and 120 (for the SWC). Then the worrying side of me thought 400 would be better, give me more latitude for the focus-guessing in the SWC, and faster speeds all round. But the Tri-X shots I got last time didn't really give me that wow factor, but I'm the first to admit it could be the developer choice too, R09.

This is the gritty and downright ugly look I got form a fair chunk of the Tri-X, developed in R09.

"At this stage", rough plan is to take equal parts of B&W and colour neg for the SWC (taking two film backs, so colour in the A-16, B&W in the A-12). Additionally I will take a small amount of 35mm colour neg, but predominately B&W in the MP.

Taking the digital for colour also.

Nice! A classic view of Locorotondo, the city with 5 "o" ... a beautiful old city. I live half an hour south of there.

Thank you Montezuma, I wish I had known that in 2015. We stayed in a wonderful trullo for a week, and explored all manner of local towns, Martina Franka was one of those, but unfortunately not Frankavilla. Our host Roberta was wonderful too. We'd love to return.

Gary despite all the qualities of the X camera , I do not trust the color of the sensors

but you are free of your choice !

At my last mission in september 2016 , and for the color the majority of my images

are film and not M8 and M9 ! Gary practical yes faithful color no , especially nature !

Take some Portra rolls Gary. You prefer b&w for the practical side of development

by yourself ?

Henry

The Australasian One Challenge is over, the winners are supping on fine champagne, and as for the rest of us....

Well, anyway, here's my entry for those who haven't seen it. It was a lot of fun - one camera, one lens, one ISO, one roll of film (or 36 shots) and you had to cease shooting two hours after your first shot. My roll lasted an hour and a half.
