blackandwhite Posted May 19, 2017 Share #32762 Posted May 19, 2017 Where have I been, Adam ? In winter I am heading south , due to health problems and if my budget allows. And always completely offline, much more difficult for my wife than for me. On the other hand, I have time to shoot film - that's the nicer thing about it... Another picture , also Rolleiflex C / Planar 3:5 and TriX film. Grimaud in winter. Welcome, dear visitor! gbealnz Posted May 19, 2017 Share #32763 Posted May 19, 2017 A lovely timeless shot B&W, I must admit to having to research where Grimaud actually was (not unusual, I often do this with members picture locations, it's part of the fun). sblitz Posted May 19, 2017 Share #32765 Posted May 19, 2017 I keep thinking about getting an SL (have the Q but sometimes 28 is too wide) and then I get a film shot back (Portra 800 AND Leica 40MM lens, picked up in London, Steve Kessel recommended, nice lens BTW) and I say, okay, I will live with the cost -- Welcome, dear visitor! A miller Posted May 19, 2017 Share #32769 Posted May 19, 2017 Steve - you are bloody (and I feel that I can say that after the nice dinner and drinks we had in London last Month) out of your mind if you think you need an SL. These shots are sublime. Each one. Especially love the last. Please stop drinking the Leica digital Koolaid!!!! I keep thinking about getting an SL (have the Q but sometimes 28 is too wide) and then I get a film shot back (Portra 800 AND Leica 40MM lens, picked up in London, Steve Kessel recommended, nice lens BTW) and I say, okay, I will live with the cost -- Above is my step-grandson -- these are two shots in Union Sq NYC, Portra 400 and Leica 40MM lens -- and the second ....

Popular Post stray cat Posted May 20, 2017 Popular Post Share #32775 Posted May 20, 2017 Here's one from the archives while I see if my scanner can be brought back to life (I've followed up the kind suggestions here, rung Nikon Ginza, talked to Orlando at the Camera Clinic - my last hope is to get a flap/door 3D printed if that is even possible). My goal with this negative was to explore how far I could lighten (from a slightly underexposed negative) the foggy, opalescent light and yet still retain the mood of that evening: Lake Trasimeno, Italy, 1988 Canon A1, FDn 70-210, FP4
erl Posted May 20, 2017 Share #32776 Posted May 20, 2017 That pic works really well Phil. The additional benefit of PS on a neg like that is that it is easy and inexpensive. I have a similar neg somewhere. It took me three months and I don't know how much paper to print it to my vision. I included it in an exhibition, but not for sale. Someone offered me sooo much money for it that I no longer have it. Have never reprinted it. Maybe I will one day. Sorry to hear about your lack of scanner success.
