gsgary Posted April 18, 2017 Share #30882 Posted April 18, 2017 What an interesting history that chapel has. I found this article. Does anyone know what these pillars depict? Looks almost hellish somehow, a bit like Rodin's gates of hell. Terrific Paul, very cool composition. All look great Eoin. How do you find the camera? And very cool effect from the TS. Who needs a lensbaby? You give Erwitt a run for his money with all the dog shots. Very enjoyable. To me this is a true 'wow' shot, very cool Phil. It must have been difficult to get the sun in the frame given the speed of the jet. Seeing this make me wonder why one would need a gazillion AF points and follow focus. Just great. Thank you very much in have a 91 year old friend who is an expert on Medieval stained glass and also religious I will see if he knows anything about the chapel and report back Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

EoinC Posted April 18, 2017 Share #30886 Posted April 18, 2017 ...All look great Eoin. How do you find the camera? And very cool effect from the TS. Who needs a lensbaby?... Thanks, Philip. I like it very much. It felt very familiar, coming from a 1DX, and is a pleasure to use. I took the TS-E 24, and an EF 85 f/1.2L down to Singapore with me when I went to buy the 1V. It's a good job that I stuck to single-shot - This thing would single-handed support the film industry rattling off 10fps.

But, it seems best place to get information. Purchased Fuji GSW690III, still in trial period. Load inexpensive Holga 400 (120) film. Noted black spots at top of several photos. There does not seem to be any uniformity of occurrence, other than they all originate from a uniform horizontal line, located at top, and above, exposure field. Is this almost certainly a film defect? Welcome, dear visitor! Wayne Posted April 18, 2017 Share #30891 Posted April 18, 2017 Was it on all frames, Wayne? No, about three frames were without the markings. The three unmarked frames were not consecutive, but rather, located randomly in the order of frames, e.g. 1st, 4th, 8th frame were unblemished. Furthermore, when the blemishes appear, there is no uniformity to size or number. As I said, the only thing that appears uniform is that the origin points seem to originate from a uniform horizontal line above the image.

Doug A Posted April 18, 2017 Share #30894 Posted April 18, 2017 It might be a good idea to shoot a roll of a different film of similar speed and see what happens. That should sort out whether it is the film or the camera.

Wayne Posted April 18, 2017 Share #30896 Posted April 18, 2017 Yes it's a good idea but Wayne you have it only on test before you purchase ? I have purchased, but there is a return period. The randomness of the spots makes me think it likely problem with film, but, as I have never seen this sort of thing, I thought I might get other opinions. I bought a few rolls of the Holga 400 because it was cheap and I have never used it.

EoinC Posted April 18, 2017 Share #30899 Posted April 18, 2017 Hand-held tilt at night is probably not the most intelligent of ideas, but I didn't get where I am by being smart (EOS-1V HS w/ TS-E 24 - Tri-X @ 1600)... After shooting I make sure it is tight and goes in a dark pocket of my bag and if I'm not developing immediately it goes in a draw because sometimes when it is not raped tight you can get dark marks on the outside of the Roll, throw that cheap crap film in the bin and get some Foma 400 like I use in mine Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk Edited April 18, 2017 by gsgary
