I saw a nice post earlier on another thread earlier so I took a screenshot. I thought I would share it here. It about the amount we invest in our prize gear.

I thought I could use that one in relation to my film cameras. My digital cameras only get used when people want instant pics nowadays. I also have more film cameras than digital now.

Thanks a lot!

I think this is my favorite one of these. Top Stuff.

Christoph - This shot has your signature stellar composition.  But it keeps my eyes searching for something sharp so that I can anchor on the main subject.  Perhaps my issue is the lack of full resolution...

For Henry, for obvious reasons. Rather overexposed, but somehow I like the effect. Curious as to what you think?

Chris - wow, this is really great.  Would love to know what gear and film (my wild guess is Tmax 100), as well as for all of your recent posts, really.

Perhaps this will draw him out:

Hi Adam

How are things- are you hiding Henry? He has us all intrigued. Perhaps you can draw him out with one of your snow storm gems? I think we all love those.

By the way any tips for getting interesting pics in plain grey wet miserable weather- it's all I got this weekend.

Just returned from Hong Kong last night and boy am I bushed!

My SWC didn't get ANY clicks due to the crack polluted air they have.  Some days you could hardly see and others were clear by their standards but still hazy by mine.

I shot a couple of rolls with the Olympus XA that I recently picked up, which I think I will return due to the faint focus patch.

Here's my very latest new toy.  A Minolta TC-1 in "unused" condition. :p  I am very allured by the tiny size and the very intuitive IQ.  Let's see how the photos look.

Btw, I had some free time yesterday and decided to parade my New York self through the streets of Kowloon (and, yes, no one was impressed) and seek out some second-hand film camera shops.   I saw some really interesting stuff, including a brand new in box never used Contax T3 that was selling for about $1400 (11,000 HK dollars).  I played around with it a little along side the TC-1 and ultimately concluded that the TC-1 was the one for me.  Good thing for the man sitting right next to me in there store b/c as soon as I told the owner that his price was too high (expecting him to come down a little in which case my GAS may just have taken over) the owner aggressively told me that the guy right next is there to buy it and if I don't take it he will.  I bid the camera good bye and told myself this was all meant to be.  I am still telling myself this. I will continue to do so until my GAS goes away.

Hi Christopher - All is great with me.  Sorry I haven't been so active but having your brain upside down from the 13-hour time difference was a little to much for me to handle.  But with all of the wonderful photographs that have been shared I am sure that Henry is off saving the world and will be back soon and will more than make up for his absence :) :)

As for making the best out of wet weather, one thing that is on my list is to go out in the evening to the center of town and seek out signs with neon lights that reflect off of the wet pavement and puddles.  Of course, you need the rain to actually stop for this :)

Here's one that hopefully many will recognize.  It is the beautiful snowflake that hangs over 5th avenue and 57th street in NYC during the holiday period of the winter.  It is sponsored by UNICEF.  I grabbed this last month the day before they took it down.

I have a similar cutie also in mint condition, but it's being used now. Last summer I got tempted by the Nikon 35Ti after reading a review by Ken Rockwell. I like it to carry in my pocket when M's are too big.

Apologies for the lousy iPhone shot.

It came boxed with original paperwork from Marco Florida in 1996.

That's easily answered, Adam, as they were all taken with a Rolleiflex, using XP2 and developed in HC-110. I still get guys in the film forum telling me it's impossible or produces dreadful results to do this, but the stuff has to be used up so I'll just have to manage..... :p

Thanks Adam that's an idea. Tricky exposures though. Had a laugh once about a guy shooting plate film saying he never got an exposure wrong. I was waiting for a technical explanation when he said he just got out his digital compact and shot a few frames till he ended up with the look he wanted and then transferred the exposure!

Camera shopping in Hongkong- man I'm envious! Yeah they have some awesome stuff. It always amazes me how some can keep their gear cling filmed and never use it!

Glad all is well - I've noticed that Henry likes going on walkabout occasionally [emoji846].

I need to take some serious shots of my gear, I think i'm the only one who doesn't do it. Henry has some nice shots all tidily laid out - perhaps that's a rainy day project too!

Best wishes

Christopher

Absolutely stunning work- those colo(u)rs (proper English- haha). That given us all something to savour tonight.

New TC-1 - lucky you :) Sincere congratulations!

Still thinking, that a XA 4 with its flash would be perfect for your street photography during blizzards. No focus patch at all, just one time/apperture setting in flash mode, your only exposure control by tricking the ASA setting - or having a technician bloc the apperture fully open.

The gorgeous TC-1 with the AF would be too much of fragile beauty in such weather conditions.

Some I noticed here. I thought they had the XA-4, but now not sure.
