Dear all, some more pictures from the north. These are taken in northern Iceland. The waterfall is called Goðafoss (Fall of the gods), and the hot springs are quite a collection of sulphur smelling pools. Taken with a Zenza Bronica ETRC on Ilford Pan F 50, developed in HC110 1:79.

Cheers, Chris

Hi, Christoph, Henry, and Massimo.

No apologies for digital paraphenalia sitting on my benchtop.

Bracketing (based on incident reading) to +/- 2 stops, the 0 compensation shot looked best, retaining the shadow detail on the TS-E 24's focusing ring (which wasn't the focus point). I developed in R09 at 1:25 for 11minutes.

Here are the results for exposing at 1600 w/ 0, -1, and -2 stops compensation, developed as 3200 (R09 at 1:25 for 17minutes):

From what I see, at -1 stop, it's still carrying plenty of detail. At -2 (depending upon subject), it's missing distinction in the shadows, but still usable.

First is the best imho

Definitely, Massimo. The purpose of this was to see how far I can limit the exposure and still get passable results for the indoor shooting coming up. I'll do the same with Tri-X, which I usually prefer over TMax.

Hi Doc,

Here are a couple more photos from the same trip also on Ektar 100.

I hope they're not duplicated on this thread.

In preparation for some indoor velodrome shooting in a couple of weeks, did some bracketed tests with Tri-X and TMax 400 shooting at 1600, and then developing at 1600 and 3200 in R09.

This is TMax 400 (despite what it says on the little note) metered @ 1600 and developed @ 1600...

Interesting! An excellent result. What was the dev time for the metered @ 1600, developed @ 1600?

Steve thanks for these nice pictures. I prefer in color , people

in their colorful clothes cut clearly with the gray background of the snow :)

It looks better and natural  without denaturing the photo in using PS.

The color is superb despite the bad weather of blizzard in NYC.

Thanks Steve

Thanks Keith, Henry --

Hardly bad weather, just February :-)  We will wait a few days to see Adam's contribution from the storm ..... here is one more, looking into a furniture store window, the bright spots are mirrors.

Hi Theodor,

These were scanned at Panda Photo in Seattle when they were developed.  I scan my B&W on an Epson V500 but I don't develop color so just have it scanned at the shop.

Best regards,

Dave

Look! Amateur Photographer magazine has started a new poll. And film is way ahead. http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/latest/latest-announcements/do-you-still-own-and-use-film-camera-100497

This looks good [emoji4]

Dave I think you can also scan yourself MF (and also 24x36)  with the Epson V500

for posting on the Net or printing in A4. It's largely enough and it's less expensive :)

Look at one picture I scan with my Epson V700 only in 3200dpi

My experience with Epson scanner , the general rendering in b&w is superb

perhaps better than in color ! The ANR glass flattened the film and gives a better

definition ** (it costs less than 30 USD)

** I made comparison scan with and without ANR glass , it's obvious and it's

without appeal !
