Two more (all same details). Hope you manage to 'capture some light' this weekend!

Thanks Keith I escaped lunchtime to Aberavon beach for a walk on the promenade- it felt like 3°c! Not as cold as Adam yesterday in NY, but a lot colder than Gary in New Zealand. We were all on line together last night and I thought - here we are all together at the same moment but about 19 hours apart in distance. It's a strange feeling.

I managed to get some shots and pie with chips in Franko's, our posh chippie on the sea front. Got some snaps on the R9 which I may post if they're any good [emoji4] Back in work by two though - thank goodness it's Friday!

Have a good weekend everyone too.

Regards

Christopher

Nice one. This really screws with my colour sensibilities. What's the story behind this? The "One way" sign changed to "One day"?

Christopher - the story behind this? Meaning color or the shot in general? Colorwise, this is a scanned slide on the blueish side that I tried to counter in LR a bit unsuccessfully. I struggled with it and saved out 2 versions, this being the 2nd.This was taken while I was in New Orleans helping a friend shoot a wedding. Saturday was the wedding, then after shooting that, we walked around and crashed a wild costume party (I have some neat photos from that, but 5DII pics). The next day we walked around the French Quarter district. I bought my M6 for the street walking. As for the sign? Who knows... but it's New Orleans  :p

Keith your landscapes become nicer :)

Both are nice . Thanks

Always with IIIg ?

Thank you, Henry.  Yes, the whole series are from one roll of Acros 100 put through my IIIg & 5cm Summicron Collapsible last Saturday afternoon.  It was a good day!  :)

Thank you, that's a great story and it helps us understand the context, really. You can't make this stuff up - brilliant.

I would love to have seen the 5DII pics too.

Some good light and shade in those shots Henry. The last one I like best though, it makes me smile - it is somewhat humorous in a good way. The chap walking into your shot leads our train of thought into the picture. I like it.

Thanks, Henry.  Funny thing you picked up on my Daughter's expression as she has a thing for pushing my son's buttons and getting a rise out of him - the look on her face suggests that she is poised to make an ambush that will most certainly drive him crazy!

Color superb Adam "light" and nice

Lovely family I love the smile of your daughter :)

The time was better there than you have now in NYC ... Brrr

Thanks

Henry

Very nice, Keith.  For me, the composition would be stronger if the tree was standing alone w/o the small bush (or whatever it is) just behind it.   Just my two cents from a city person who doesn't see too much nature (other than Central Park)

I was beginning to think I was overdoing it & people would be getting bored with the views of Pewsey Vale from Martinsell Hill!  However, your wish is my command...   ;)

As with all the others, same roll of Acros 100 put through my IIIg & 5cm Summicron Collapsible.

I'm Still Standin' (apologies to Elton John)

Sincere thanks, Christopher.  I appreciate the thoughtful comments.  This photo made the cover of our 117-page family album from last summer.  :)

Henry is right. This is a clever composition from an abstract perspective just looking at the colours from my perspective. I like bright colours because I have difficulty with light shades. But the sky colour is reflected in the water and the hat and shorts are mirrored. The skin colours create the glue holding the image together- it really works well. So it all works, the subjects interacting along with abstract shape and colour together. I really like it. It's the sort of image that would work even if you hung it upside-down if you know what I mean. I think you do. The best images often work that way.

Christopher

Yes "Film is not dead" Chris :)

Thank you, we have already counted your vote.

I own some, but don’t use them any more  4.97%  (220 votes)

I still use film occasionally  21.82%  (966 votes)

I use film frequently  70.44%  (3,119 votes)

I’m now 100% digital  2.77%  (123 votes)

21.82 + 70.44=92.26 %  use film frequently or occasionally

It's great , people begin to understand

Henry

Ha, ha, don't joke.  There are certain people that I know who drive around Manhattan with wire fence cutters in their cars in case they encounter a fence or other barrier that interferes with their ability to take an otherwise clear photo.

Love this! Make a print, put it in a book, it is a shot you will return to years from now
