The 3,5F has a Planar lens, but to be honest: At f 5,6 I can´t tell, if a picture was taken with a Planar, a Tessar, a Xenotar oder a Xenar, at f3,5 there might be a tiny advantage for the planar, but in real life.. I own a 3,5A, 3,5B, 3,5C, T, 2,8C, Roleicord V an Vb.

So if you could get a nice, full working Rolleiflex T oder 3,5B instead of a worn out 3,5C or 3,5F it might be a better choice. The T, the 3,5F and the Rolleicord Vb do have a brighter Screen (instead of the old glass screens) and a detachable chimney- finder. The T and the Vb are also able to make

6x4.5 images with another gear set. So a late Rolleicord Vb in good condition (they were built until the 70´s) would be the best bang for the buck, if the focus is just on image quality. Lightweight, high quality lens, reliable. The Tessars and Xenars are sharp and contrasty lenses. The Rolleiflex TLR is quiet, lightweight and the best compromise between image Quality, image size and weight, in my opinion.

I have been using a 1967 Rolleicord Vb for the last six years, chosen mainly because it is light weight.  Not the quickest camera to use but the results have been excellent.  Really should be making more use of it but despite its weight advantage,  last year I succumbed to both a Texas Leica as well as finally scratched a long-held itch with the purchase of a 1969 Hasselblad 500C.  The Rollei is sitting on the shelf glaring at me...

Love this, Henry.  Very peaceful and classic.

Well, good thing you didn't use a flash :)  What a great moment!

Good stuff, I think you'll really like the flexibility and rendering.  Enjoy!

Yes I was inspired by one photo of Henri Cartier  Bresson :)

Thanks Adam

Very nice, Ramesh.  One of my favourite places in Sydney!  More expired film?   :)

Thanks. Yes, I have more expired film in my fridge. The problem is I keep buying film even when I do have some stocked in the fridge - just to make sure that there are no excuses for not shooting :-)

Well, well. Just won an auction for a Rolleiflex. I'm excited. It's a model 3.5b with a Tessar as far as I can tell based on serial number (one of the EV models). It looks to be in great shape, the seller claims it to appears to be near new. The photos were not that great so we'll see. Sometimes that works out in my favor - usually less people bid on auctions with lousy photos. That's how I got my M6 (mint - seriously 1 roll of film through it) for $850.  ;) Edit: now that I think of it, I think I got the M6 for $700-$750, I don't recall exactly. I just remember it being way under market for the time. I also remember cringing at making the payment because the photos were terrible, I was concerned I'd made a huge mistake (insert GOB reference here). When it showed up in the mail, turns out it looked brand spankin' new. Got lucky.
