The second one with the wires disappearing into the fog is very atmospheric and nice. Simple and striking (and probably cold and wet, too :) ).

Some pictures in black KodakTX

We planned a climb of the Mont Blanc of 4 days last May.

Unfortunately the weather has changed quickly, the snow and the clouds are

quickly arrived, it is unusual in May. Our guide canceled the escalation !

PS: For comparison I also took these landscapes with my 2 digital cameras and in color film (MP)

I prefer light cameras so I let all my SLR at home

I particularly like the first one, because the composition and the lady's posture. Very nice.

One wonders what's going on in the centre of that pile...

I dare say there are bigger haystacks In Kansas but I've never seen a larger one than this. :D

Nice one Keith, brilliant tonality too. Is it to enhance tonality that you shoot it at EI320?

A cold, damp and grey afternoon earlier this week in Cirencester.  Hasselblad 500C, 60mm Distagon, Tri-X @ ISO 320, Rodinal.

Thanks, Phillip.  I shoot at ISO 320 and reduce dev time by 10% (Rodinal 1:50 for 11mins 45secs, down from MassiveDev's 13mins) to create a flatter neg which makes scanning on my V700 easier. Easy to add contrast etc in LR.  Works for me!  :)

I have Dire Straights but also in CD , no Vinyl for comparison . It belongs to my nephew  :D

but I have Pink Floyd great in vinyl !

Henry

Oh yes, I want to get the Dark Side of the Moon reissue. I have it on CD and even that is intense. My modest collection mostly consists of jazz (my fav) so far with a few rock and classical.

While the hay is certainly impressive, the thing that also keeps me looking at this photo is how flat the landscape. It reminds me of Illinois, planting season. There are places where you can stand and stare out over coal-black earth that seems to go on forever, and as flat as a billiards table. In my youth, it bored me to tears; now, it fascinates.

Planting season is coming.

Another from the dull & dreary afternoon in Cirencester. Pictured is the Trinity Chapel (1430 - 1460), part of the St John Baptist parish church.  Hasselblad 500C, Distagon 60mm, Tri-X.

GNU , jazz is also nice to listen in vinyl

The small ensembles of musicians are well reproduced in vinyl

I have a lot of Jazz records (Coltrane,Mingus ...)  but the majority of my vinyls are classical with

mostly operas (Verdi,Wagner,Puccini ...)

Some interpretations by chiefs are no longer available on CD and only exist in vinyl
