Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS

This is from a walk in the lovely Clingendael park here in The Hague last autumn. Wonderful light that day and when I came across this scene I became very excited. Heaps of people around but, I realised, for just a few seconds there wouldn't be anyone on the path in the background. So I quickly composed, focused and took the shot...which unfortunately became a bit blurred due to focus being slightly off. I shot the Provia 100 at f2.8 or f4 so had a rather narrow DOF, but the aperture priority in the camera made it possible to chance it exposure-wise; one of the reasons I really love the 203FE.

Still, I like the light and the composition a lot. And if one squints it even looks to be passably sharp  ^_^

Philip, I really like this photograph. Ah, that light!

I'll happily take it with a squint.  :)

Thank you, Doc Henry, for this thread. It is a great place to share and showcase.

I attach two photographs taken in the Bornes-Aravis in 2016. This is perhaps one of your favourite hunting grounds, Doc?

Met Klaus at his atelier some days before his exhibition

He was testing a installation with a lot of moving parts so he was a little nervous

Ask him for a quick portrait at his open door

Thanks, Gentlemen.  This is one of my favorite places to shoot.  I go back there in search of the "holy grail" shot.  I hope the scene doesn't start to bore you with time! :)

The bouquet adds another dimension almost surreal, it leaves me asking questions too ...

Charles

Very romantic picture  Adam . :)  I agree with Charles

Thanks

Lovely colours Adam. Your ultra wide pictures tempt me to get an SWC for myself :-)

There is lots to like about this photograph my eye travels along the shadow threading across and up the tree, only pausing at the figure before continuing in the lovely light before accepting the dominance of the sun.

Thank you for my journey, Philip.

Very nice, Doc. I am becoming a vinyl junkie lately. I have a 1970s Dual and I recently acquired and 1960s Empire that I plan to restore, even though it's in very good shape already. I have compared a few artists I have on both CD and vinyl. Vinyl wins to my ears.

GNU  you are a connoisseur  :)

When you compare vinyl and CD in the same interpretation , you can see that CD is too much agressive specially in trebble - high frequencies , the reason : too much compressed when recording (like digital in photo).Vinyl is reading in another process (RIAA) . Finally the sound is not reproduced correctly . The depth , the dynamic and the relief are greater in vinyl

We're going to make a "Vinyl Club" :D

Dual is a good brand for turntable . It's German !
