While the colors of the digital version look neutral and that way also natural, I prefer the vivid film colors! Thanks for sharing!

And now it is time for a sweet break:

very lovely, Keith. I'd like to see it without the vignetting as I'll bet that the effective composition will come through just as forcefully, and will look more natural. I could be wrong...

Adam, the effect is even more pronounced with the sensor

So you are thinking that this vignetting is completely natural? If so, it would be an effect of the lens, not the film, I would think. In any case, it wasn't clear from the post that the vignetting as natural. If it was in fact natural, I would retract most of my comment.

Here you are Adam, a version sans vignette. I added the vignette to concentrate the eye on the main scene, but let me know what you think of this one.

Keith - This is a thousand times better for me. The boulder in the foreground still smacks me in between the eyes. When the composition is strong like this, the extra visible background and context in the scene only enhances the image, IMO.

This version also displays the wonderful tones throughout the image in a much more effective way.

I like the shot so much more now! Congrats!

Adam, according to the cameras, some have more or less vignetting in the corners like the Sony A7 with Leica wide angles. This is known

I'm not saying that it's natural ( I do not like the optics (too) wide angle because of it) , but it is a consideration when using a wide angle.

The light rays incident impress a little differently the sensor (one silicone layer with filters) and film (3 silver layers)

You can find some schemas that explain this phenomenon here:

http://www.edmundoptics.com/technical-resources-center/imaging/sensor-relative-illumination-roll-off-and-vignetting/

Vignetting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

but there has pictures software that corrects vignetting !

Some photographers leave the vignetting to focus attention on the center of the subject

Count me in, Keith! Wonderful shot that works without the added vignette.
