First attempts with the Cinestill 50 for portraits. I like the style, doesn't look perfect at all, but thats why I will try it again.

best regards

Righto, not really "I like Film", but I'm worried to the point of asking anyone on the thread if they've heard from Henry. He's normally the life and soul, but has been absent for a while, with his last actual activity on the LUF on 5th November.

I've tried a personal e mail, and I have tried a PM. No reply to e mail, not accepting PM's.

If he's just away, or doesn't want to be involved, or whatever, then I am happy, all is good.

If he is ill, then it would be nice to be in touch.

Anyone got a contact for him?

Gary

Having been away from the thread for two months, I too wondered about Henry when I came back to the thread and saw nothing from him.  Maybe he is away on one of his trips to a remote location?

I like this one a lot Steve. Nice silhouette of the couple and of the branches plus very nice colour on the leaves.

for some reason they are coming out a lot less sharp than on my screen ..... have to work on it some but here is a second shot...

Tremendous photograph, just otherworldly.

Afterglow, Isle of Harris.  From my October 2016 Wild Light photography workshop in the Outer Hebrides.

There are four crofts at the far end of the beach.  A crofter, Brian, had been watching us photographing in near darkness and invited us back to his croft for a cup of tea.  From the chill of Hebridean evening beach photography to a mug of hot tea in front of a peat fire, absolute bliss! :D

Within the past year, a giant statue of David Ben Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister, was erected in the middle of the most popular beach in Tel Aviv.

To an outsider, this image may seem somewhat demeaning for a person of such great stature within Israel.

Yet, for nearly every Israeli with a high school education it is common knowledge that one of David Ben Gurion's morning rituals was to stand on his head.  A form of yoga, I guess. :)

That is one of the most absurd blots on the landscape I have ever seen!  Visual pollution, but you photographed it well.

Interesting, not nearly as nice as the background either.

Plus I feel for all the barefoot children who must stub their toes on the concrete sand-disguised plinth.

From a purely photographic point of view though, the SWC still rocks, and more so with Velvia.

Just heard from Henry, my/our fears are unfounded, he is away on urgent family business and will be back soon.

Gary

Thank you, Gary. I had tried to PM him when he first went MIA, but also got rejected.

We all eagerly await your return, Henry, and wish you well with your family.

Interesting to see the recent Velvia 50 uploads from Adam and Marc.  The rich, intense colours could not be described as 'subtle', could they?  When I see examples taken with Ektar I think "hmm, time I bought some more of that" - but I do not see Velvia 50 making it on my shopping list...

Each to their own, of course.
