thank you guys :)

and I have mistaken a film roll, it was a tri-x 400... and I wondered why so much contrast.

went to the fridge and counted rolls five times before I figured it out... :))) how do you guys keep track of that :D

and one in color... I hope it is a kodacolor 400 :))) really not sure about nothing no more...

so, lately I shoot while driving... i guess it helps with boredom of sitting behind the wheel in a rush hour...

I use an app called Holders to keep track of what film I have in each camera.  Once I get the negatives back, I add them to a storage sheet and label them with the film used and the date/event corresponding to my Lightroom catalogue.

Hi everyone.. I like film too just like the thread... I was born in the transitional area from film to digital.. I remembering using a point and shoot film camera in my school time, and now I found film to be charming and zen type.

Enough with the chat.. here is a pict that I took a couple months ago in Melbourne.. I haven't shoot much since as my daily work wouldn't allow me.

Enjoy,

Andy

... you're right the best (not one of ...) support for photo in the artistic sense of the term

nothing to replace it at the moment ,for now and unbeatable color like white black ....

may be one day research of a better sensor will arrive but...

"charming and zen" yes no dust problem , no crack,no aliasing, no moiré,no agressive

cutting lines and edges (too sharp) ,no approximate color and color correction needed,

no inhomogeneous black ... and the list is long

Nice black and grey tone Andy in your picture posted. :)

....and Welcome to our film thread  :)

Best

Henry

You know what is aliasing in digital ? and also "moiré" visible

an example

Look horizontal crossbars  on the 2 sides of the building, especially the left side at light
Horrible, does not exist in film !

you can save and crop ,even more visible

Thank You :)

The lens is 40mm Voigtlander Nokton 1.4

I think it is at f2 or lower in this photo.

Still getting used to the sunny 16 metering.

Here I just fired two shots at around f1.6 or f2

Ilford HP5 plus 400 in the oven, and shutter at 1/50

I didn't do the developing, that was done by a studio near my workshop. Pretty sure they did a bit of contrast adding and so. This is how they sent me the pic... Hope to get a scanner soon so I can do that part at home and be more aware what I actually shot.

thank you for kind words,

Silvio

I have heard good things about this lens, but ultimately it is you who's responsible for the image.

And in my view you've done very well, I particularly like the light in the picture. If you had influence

on the scanning and PP, I would perhaps have chosen for a bit less contrast in places ...

Best rgds

Wonderful pictures Daniel , specially the first

.... grain of film and this blur and soft aspect add a great value for the pictures.

Lovely portrait for picture 2 and nice bokeh with the V4 Summicron

More please  :)

... and Welcome to our thread Daniel :)

Thanks Henry. That soft blur is down to the lovely Summarit of course, nothing additional added in post, just shot wide open. My one could never be described as mint, a real heavy user in fact, but it has the most beautiful rendering, especially shooting into the light. I love the M3/Summarit combo.

Yes, that's the one. Quite cheap too for a Leica lens!

Very interesting structure. it keeps me comming back.  Great tones throughout and yes,...no 'moire"!

Marc you can do nothing with aliasing

https://www.quora.com/Does-aliasing-happen-with-film-cameras

...  yes you can , but you must change camera , take analog cam :)

or if you keep digit cam , avoid photographing this type of structure

ie no longer take such architecture picture !

The fault is due to photosites and square pixels.

Thanks for your advice ... :)

I tear off the top of the packet and cut it to fit in hotshoe or if I'm using self loaded i write the film on some masking tip and stick it to the bottom of the camera, but if a film is loaded it almost always get shot that day
